Current thoughts on safety of KR808 cartomizers (i.e. the burning of filler/wick/etc.)????

Ok, I checked that thread. That's actually the one I was reading earlier today that was the cause of the alarm to begin with. I have not dissected a cartomizer yet to check for burnt material. I have been cigarette-free for three days now, so I hate to stop using the KR808. I just don't want to find out 5 years from now that I was unknowingly killing myself with these things by breathing in toxic fumes from burning cartomizer material.

Well first of all, you and most everyone here was "Knowingly" killing themselves at one point, and me personally was happy about it. That being said...

I actually only use the cool carts from V4L, kinda partially for that fear. I found regular kr808 cartos burn real hot and make me a bit nervous about the whole burnt inhalation thing. I have found that topping them off regularly and keeping them wet goes a long way towards their life expectancy and reduces any risk of burning. I actually have a cartomizer that i used everyday, 2-3 refills a day for almost two months. Looking inside it I did notice some discoloration on the inside tube. It was really a small amount. I think possibly inhaling the fumes after lightning a match would be considered more severe.

BUT who really knows... I can't stand regular atty's because they always have a burnt flavor, or after a few drops give me a burnt flavor. I may be doing something wrong but I think the burning taste freaks me out regardless. People always say "after you get that burnt taste then refill your cartridge or put more drops on the atty". EW I don't want any burning going on..I have not gotten any burning taste if i keep my cartos wet.

This is what i order and use for my kr808
Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Premium soft cap CoolCart Cartomizers

Are they a better cartomizer in my opinion hmm. Hard to say if they are "better". They run A LOT cooler. If you take a bunch of continuous tugs off a regular kr808 carto you will get the burnt lip, ow. I am sure you probably could make these give you a burnt lip maybe if you did it for a really long time. I however haven't run into it as a regular problem. You do loose some of that great hot vapor feeling. When I show any smokers what vaping is like, I have a regular kr808 carto on for them so they get that familiar hot smoke/vapor feeling.

But I figure I don't really need the hot smoke/vapor feeling anymore. I am more about the flavors then anything. I figure if the whole cartomizer itself is running cooler then the chances of burning are less. Realize this is all just conjecture..

I don't have any problems with roasted cartos. Thought I might have burnt out a carto or two at first, but turns out I hadn't - it was more of a 'cooked juice' thing.

If you pay attention, you shouldn't have any issues. You'll burn your lip on a carto before you burn the filling, imo. Don't vape it dry and you'll be okay. I've been topping off with about four drops in a carto every 2 hrs or so and that keeps them wet enough for me, but depending on how often you hit the carto, you might need more or less. YMMV.
