So I made a $1000 order from Totally Wicked on October 18. On Oct 24, it said being held at customs. I called numerous times and got no answers. So today, Nov 28 they updated the tracking saying it got sent back to sender. I guess customs refused entry. I had hardware and e liquid. Now, I am going to get them to resend the order. Any tips or tricks you guys know of so I dont go through this again?? I have ordered a few times before with no problem. Should I tell them to ship the e liquid in a different box than the hardware? Please help. This whole things got me stressed.

I've heard stories of FedEx and other courrier packages getting held at customs.

Your best bet is as you suggested to have your e-liquid and hardware shipped separately to minimize your risk and costs. I've never ordered from Totally Wicked so I don't know how they label their packages but you could always send them an e-mail asking to avoid slapping a logo on their packaging, and labeling it as "incense oils" or even just polypropylene glycol.

I think it might be the size. I've only ever had 1 package stopped at the border. It was a big order. When I make large orders now I will break it up in to smaller orders. Yes this dose mean paying for more shipping, but it is worth it to get what I need. Maybe thats just me being paranoid, but I could just imagine someone at the border saying "Ok this looks like a .... lab" and then actually looking more in to it and realizing that it is "contraband".

So for sure I will get them to ship e liquid and hardware separate. Is it a good idea to label the e liquid as incence oils or something different?

Willfully marking incorrect info could send you to the slammer. I wouldn't do that for anyone.

Smaller orders will make it through.

The penalty in the US if you get caught is $4000 per declaration x that by 100 customers = $400K - ya just lost your house :(

I am tired of feeling like a criminal trying to get this stuff over the border. I am not even doing anything wrong. I successfully quit smoking cigarettes by vaping. Trying to help my friends do the same but I guess Canada just wants me to smoke cigarettes and die a horrible death. I was smoking 2 packs a day and now just vaping. I dont understand

No need to be melodramatic about it :) We've all been in your shoes. If you don't like playing craps, order Canadian. If you order across the border, tell them ship nondescript. <---- That is not an offense.

but really its is illegal by Canadian law to import nicotine. you may not think your doing anything illegal but by Canadian law you are. i like to order from outside Canada also because of cheaper prices but if you loose $1000 is it really cheaper? just order Canadian and you shouldn't have a problem or try your luck with customs thats the way it is until Canada finally sees this as a safe product, just my 2 cents

It's not "illegal" to import e-juice, it's "banned" by Health Canada who gave directions to Canada Customs to seize all packages containing e-juice, if you get caught at the border they're not going to throw you in jail for it, just confiscate it.

I would imagine that Canada Customs has a few vendors on their "watch list" whose packages have a higher chance of being screened and Totally Wicked being on of the biggest is most likely on this "list".

Because of the whole "nicotine" problem when it comes to shipping, I decided to go a diffrent route. I ordered 120 ml of 100mg base juice in a order. This so far has lasted me a while. Now I just order flavors from TPA, a little PGA from montreal, and PG and VG that I got from shoppers drug mart, and I'm good to go. No more worries at the border. Yes there is still a small chance that something ends up as "contraband" but I've not had any problems yet.
On a side note, the carmel flavor ot TPA. OMG that is good stuff.
