I'm using my computer at work to charge my battery when it gets low (I'm still waiting on my Riva 510 to arrive so I just have 1 battery). Someone mentioned (forget who) that they don't use their computer to charge the battery because of potential blow ups. How much of a risk is this? Should I not be using my computer at work to charge my battery?

It is pretty safe to charge batteries on a computer. Just don't get a static shock on the computer. Somebody destroyed their PCC that way. And never use the PC's USB to power a passthrough (though a PT with an inline real battery may be able to be used on a PC's USB if it only charges the battery as you vape it. I would still use it on a separate source)

And for the future I recommend these (hold up to 4 assorted charging cables OR run one PT):
Amazon.com: Rosewill USB Travel Charger Adapter RUC-6180: Electronics

OK, so I would screw the e cig into the USB charger and then plug it into that right?Hey, another question. I have an iGO charger in my car for my cell phone. Can I get an adapter for that charger for my e cig too? I mean is it the right volts or amps or whatever it is that I'm supposed to be careful about?

Grats on your Riva 510! And I highly recommend Boge cartomizers on everything 510. If you have never used cartomizers, I recommend learning to fill and top the off with the standard resistance Boge 510 cartos. They are more forgiving and won't singe as easily. Then if you want you could use the hotter 2.5 or 2.0 ohm ones (those do use battery charge faster)

I carry a number of ecigs and carry my charged 750mah Riva 510 battery in a Chinese cloth covered lipstick case. I wrap something around the middle of the battery (currently a custom cut piece of tick craft foam) so its button won't contact the inner sides of the case.

Thanks Dormouse, I did order some boge cartos (3.0?) with it. Its comes with the SmokTek dual coil cartos (did I say all that right?? lol) but I'd heard that the Boge were really good so I wanted to try both. Trying to figure out which carto is now my biggest challenge. The resistence is still confusing to me and I'm hoping that once I start using it, it will all start to make sense. I"m already filling the "cartos" (I guess thats what they are) that are on my Metro (Nikotek) so I"m getting practice with that. I figure if I screw it up (its an auto), its no big loss! Unless of course I screw it up BEFORE the Riva arrives

Thanks for the tips on the chargers!

Yes, a portable power source probably would be a good idea so suggestions welcomed, thanks!

Sorry it took me so long, wifi issues...

18650 power box | eBay

These are an excellent deal, but not not all of them are the same.

If you want to use it for other purposes than just charging, like vaping with a true 5V passthrough, you'll want one that has an output of at least 2.0-3.0 amps.

Also, do not use 18650 protected cells in these as the unit already has a protection circuit built in. It also has a voltage regulator and several other safety features. One even has a mini-flashlight in it.

And if 10,000+ mah is too big for you, I can provide you with several other inexpensive options. Just lemme know.

And an example of the batteries you'll need:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-TrustF...614351477?pt=US_Batteries&hash=item35b1afbe75

I prefer Trustfire over Ultrafire as they last longer and are less expensive than Ultras. There are hundreds of vendors on eBay for lithium batteries so should shop around and see whose got the best price for the cells you need.....NON-PROTECTED. I just used this vendor as an example on a quick search, but there are tons all over eBay.

Thanks Shekinahsgroom (whew, thats a mouthfull lol)! I'll check some of those out and surely one will work for me!

You're welcome. You can call me Shek if you wish?

And if there's something smaller or more convenient that you want, lemme know cuz there are a lot of very nice options.
