My favorite Christmas moment was 5 years ago I went home for Christmas. It was the first Christmas I had spent with my Dad and Mom in 27 years!! I showed up without warning, late in the evening on Christmas eve. The tears on my parents faces will stay with me the rest of my life. Since then, I have moved back home, and I enjoy as many holidays with them as I can :) It is all about Family.

Thanks for the contest, and Have a great holiday with your families too :)

Ok I was about 6 or 7 at my grandma's farm for Christmas Eve. ( I am a huge Christmas freak!). The magic of Christmas is one of the most amazing feelings in the world especially when you are a child. My brother and I were looking out the livingroom window looking for Santa. We had our cookies and milk out, all the Christmas lights and the Christmas tree was turned on. We were the last ones up. Being on a farm with no street or city lights everything was pitch black and the stars were bright as ever. It was like you could see each and everyone so clear. All of a sudden we saw a red light moving across the sky. It was the most magical memorable moment that warms my heart each time. We were so caught up in the moment, we looked at eachother, smiled wide eyed. We both fell asleep on the couch as we watched that little red light. Back then we swore we saw Santa Clause and that's still to this day what we say.

Christmas was always such a magical time for me growing up and since, its so hard to pick one...........:)

What I do remember as the best was probably 1977, all of my relatives came to our new house for Christmas morning, my mom had made home-made waffles, suasage, bacon, scrambled edds, etc; the family saw me being an altar boy as xmas mass :)blush:), my mom and dad were so proud of me; my little brother was an oh-so-cute 5 (now he's got a couple inches and 100# on me!); my sister was still an innocent airhead (god love her!:)); my grandfather, my idol, ran it all in his genial and loving way, bear-hugging anyone who got close; and my parents were still happy together........

A very merry Christmas to you, bcordell, and i wish you good fortune.:thumb:

My favorite Christmas, hard to say. One of my favorites was the first Christmas I spent with my wife. We lived in a small apartment in a, um, not so great area. We had a small Christmas Tree with presents under it wrapped beautifully but hidden well behind the couch so the lovely people in the area would not see them. It was a bad area and we didn't have much but we were, and still are, very happy!

My favorite magical Christmas was back in 2007. My last Christmas with my mother. All of us kids and spouses decided to cook dinner and share gifts. She was the guest of honor. The tiny one bedroom apartment was filled. She was on oxygen and with all of us in the tiny apartment we were roasting. We figured we raised the temperature to over 105 degrees. We ended shutting off the furnace. It made her last Christmas a event that we shall never forget!

I love giving gifts that are just perfect, are a reflection of how well you know and love the person or are just plai fun! One of my favorite gifts for Christmas was a gift I bought for my Grandpa. There were quite a few things that he loved but was told he should stop so he did, cold turkey, just done no problem. He gave up wine, pipe tobacco, popcorn, etc. He still could have and loved Salt Water Taffy. So I went out and bought a couple empty 2 gallon buckets with lids and filled them with hand picked pieces of Salt Water Taffy from Knott's Berry Farm. His face lit up like a little kids! It was great!

For Thanksgiving this year we took our new 5yr old son(formally grandson) to San Antonio for thanksgiving. They had the lighting of the Riverwalk Christmas lights! They had their parade on the river itself! The last boat in the Parade had Santa Claus on it. when he saw it he throwed his arms up in the air and started hollering "He's real, he's really, really real!!!!!! I will never forget that! This Christmas is going to be fun and wonderful with him!!!!!

My favorite Xmas days were a couple of years in high school when I did volunteer work in a hospital. It was an arrangement by the synagogue that I grew up in, made to allowed many of the regular hospital workers get Christmas Day off. Most places won't allow that anymore due to liability concerns.

I wish you, Bill, and your family, the best Christmas of your life this year!

My favorite Christmas memory is when I was about 8 years old and wanted a transistor radio. I begged and begged for it. On Christmas Eve, after we kids went to bed; I got back up and "peeked" while my parents wrapped presents. OMG! There was the box with the radio in it! I watched my mom wrap it and put it under the tree. The next morning, that was the first present I grabbed to open. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and there-wrapped in wax paper-was some of my mom's homemade fudge! :( I guess my face was a sight to behold because my parents laughed and laughed and laughed . . . anyway; when they finished laughing, they presented the transistor radio to me. I was so happy and so relieved! I never peeked again, though!!:)
