So I headed out today to a B&M (Bricks and Mortar) shop to see what they had to offer.

My mission today was:

A - Buy first kit at B&M
B - Buy first kit online

My wife dropped me offer near the shop and I rolled up a smoke to have on the walk wondering if it would be my last.

The store didn't have the best collection of equipment but what it did have was passion. The guy in the store was great Guiding me through the starter kits he had available and what he though was best for me. I decide to buy right there. Ok he was also a sales person but I got what I needed.

joyetech eGo-T 1000mAh battery (just one - I'll explain in a bit)
A tank 1.6ml that fit (Clear)
USB charger
2 X 30ml bottles of juice

My total spend and the reason I didn't get an extra battery £20.

It should have been around £40 but I've worked in sales for a very long time and had the price "re-negotiated".

I didn't want to push the guy anymore on an extra battery but I figured I may want to invest some money later on something else if I bought the wrong thing.

Just wondering everyone thoughts.

How's it working for ya? If it works for you then it works. :) I bought an inexpensive eGo kit with two batteries and tanks and charging accessories (it's the metal one with the skull and crossbones because that's how I base my buying decisions). If it's the wrong setup, then I don't want the right one, I haven't had a cigarette for nearly two weeks.

Congrats on your decision and I hope it keeps you off tobacco!

There's nothing wrong with an inexpensive starter kit. I have several mods, but always return to the Volt X2 as my workhorse item. They're cheap, they do the job, I don't worry about them very much because they're pretty cheap. :) There's much to be said for a no-brainer solution.

Welcome, SMLP, and Bramble too! Sounds like you're off to a good start.

There's no such thing as the "wrong thing." Every vaper is different (which explains the thousands of different items on the market!) If this first setup works for you, then stick with it for a while. If it continues to satisfy, then you'll want to have a backup battery and tank on hand, because, sadly, no vaping device is immortal.

Good luck on your journey! :vapor:  :vapor:

I wanted to click "like" but I prefer not to think of my battery's mortality. If you're liking your setup enjoy it for now and don't be tempted with new flashy toys. Take time to read and talk to fellow vapors to learn and start saving some money. Soon enough you'll 'need' a new flashy toy ;) welcome!

Hey, welcome to the forum. I think you did really well on your first set up! Congratulations on taking the first steps in doing something really good for yourself.

Keep coming back here and read all you can. Lots of helpful people with info and advice for any problems you might have. I've been lucky myself and this has been just a wonderful experience for me so far!

Oh this is SO true,! I call it succumbing to "shinyitis." Wisdom says take it slow and do your research. I say that's what wish lists and shopping carts are for... Mind games as delaying tactics...

Always think about your battery's mortality, because it's going to chime in and remind you of it at the worst possible moment. Life's like that.

My backup has a backup, and there are two semi-retired ones that don't hold a charge very well any longer but could be pushed back into service temporarily in a pinch.

The graveyard now has three batteries in it. Some time here I'll break those down for parts and recycle the lithium batteries.

Welcome to ECF.
Have you had a chance to try it out yet?

I have tried it.... Lots.

I got my eGo at around 2pm today just after smoking my last. It's now 9pm and I've been Vaping all day without issue. If fact I would go as far as saying I prefer it.

Quick wins so far have been Vaping inside. I have two young kids so haven't smoked in doors for 3 years. I'm still Vaping out the way of the kids but sitting in my den nice and warm.

Question.

Do most tanks have the same size screw in thread?

I'd say that's money well spent, if the juice is really good I'd say you got a great deal for that price. Either way, it's a step in the right direction, hopefully soon you wont think about cigarettes anymore and you can leave all of that behind. The money you spent is a good buy no matter how you look at it, hopefully you enjoy vaping; I know I do! Cheers buddy!

If it stops you smoking it a fair price. You will find stuff cheaper online but its a start. I stopped smoking 21 days ago and started with almost the same setup you describe and it worked! I just received my new purchase in the post this morning an Innokin SVD and its a great toy and vapes great! The problem is Im a little obsessed at the moment. The great thing is Im not fussed about spending the cash due to saying £8.70 a day from packing in the smokes.

Make sure your purchase a 2nd battery, you don't wanna be caught short when you battery dies.

Keep it up mate and stick on the forum for advice and encouragement.

Good job negotiating with him for the price. Not sure how much that currency is but any negotiation is good in my book. Most times every first buy is a good buy ( unless you get ripped which in this case you did not ) don't ever worry about jumping straight in with a eGo. Great buy to get started in my opinion! Just watchout, this turns into a addictive hobby quick. You'll be looking all over the internet for new parts new devices and all kinds of goodies.

Happy vaping!!
