When you feel ready, whenever that is. I went three full months before reducing the nic levels, and then I very gently reduced it to avoid any withdrawal symptoms.

My mother went about two months before reducing, also gently (I DIY so that's easy).

Some people never reduce, or do so only when they're completely sure they're at no risk of reverting to smoking.

There's no set time. Whenever you feel you're ready to. I'm considering it because sometimes some of my juice feels harsh to me and I know lowering g the nic level may solve that. Other times though, I feel like I can't get enough nic. I'm probably going to start ordering 2 smaller bottles of the same juice in two different nic levels. One in 18 and one in 12. That way, I can switch between the two until I'm ready for all 12.

Don't rush, there are no rules. Most important is that you feel comfortable (or as comfortable as possible) . Don't risk going backwards to cigs. Having said that, one of the great things about vaping is that it is easy to jump right back in if you fall off the wagon. I am a year in, ihave juices at 24/18/16, well all levels. Most of the time I cant tell the difference. Good luck and happy vaping.

Hello. I have vaped for over 3 years at 12mg. Only after starting to mix my own eliquids did I feel the need to reduce the nic. Not sure why my mixes seem so much more potent than the vendor bought ones but they do. And I am extremely careful and generally make my mixes lower than 12 anyway to be sure that I am not making a mistake and over nic-ing them. Weird, I know.

:)

i'm 3 weeks in and still using the 12mg juice. i'll lower probably when i run out of my stock pile of juice.
also, nicotine has been shown to aid in the cause of heart disease, so to the poster who said it isn't that dangerous, please do some research before stating something is or isn't bad for another.

Whoa there partner. Research is being done and if you want the latest reports, click on my signature for CASAA and find some of them there. Nicotine is a vascular restrictor and with someone who already has years of tar build up, yes it can be dangerous. but nic has also been beneficial to many for that reason also. It can help prevent demential or slow it down greatly.
Remember here at ecf, we attack the post, not the poster.

Dropping your nic level or not is completely up to you. If its something you wish to do then unless you're feeling the effects of your level being too high I would wait until you've been vaping at least 6 weeks, but there is no specific time frame. Some people never drop their levels and others choose to do so quickly and others after vaping more then a year.

Having choices is what makes vaping work for so many people. :)

Still off the marlboro lights...day five...how long till u reduce the nicotine level in the juice.:2cool:

DON'T wait; you don't HAVE to wait; just GET A BACKUP CLEARO, and put the higher nic level in it; put a lower nic level in your main.

When you don't really need the nic but feel for a smoke, use the lower nic;
anytime you feel for a stronger pull, just take one drag of the higher nic tank.
