Hello all. I've been lurking here for about a week now. My first night I researched for about 3 hours and finally decided (and ordered) a Joye 510 from Innovapor. On a side note, their customer service is amazing! I received my starter kit in the mail this morning. Not soon enough to avoid my morning cigarette but early none the less. I started vaping right away (they ship their batteries fully charged because they're awesome).

I have been smoking for 10 years, averaging about a half a pack a day. The first thing I noticed was the lack of "bite" I get from analogs. Throat hit, I believe everyone refers to it as. But I had read that their juice is a little weak so I expected as much. I have more juice coming from ruyandirect so I hope that helps. The second thing was that I got a buzz from just a few hits, even with the low nic carts (I smoked ultra lights prior). So I will have to find some way to cut the nicotine down in the future.

This evening I went out to the bar, had a few drinks and pulled out my 510. Not only did it help, I got TONS of interest from the people around me. Now normally while out drinking my smoking will increase. If I'm out I will generally smoke 1/2 a pack in 4 hours or so. Now I did have to bum an analog twice simply to get that "bite." But overall, the impact has been HUGE in just the first day. I'm very excited that I haven't actually craved a real cigarette all day!

I do have a few questions:

Can anyone recommend a juice that will give me the "bite" I am missing or am I just going to have to give that up?

I know I need to cut down my juice. I went to Walmart and found the Glycerin in the pharmacy area. It doesn't say polypropyl glycol or vegetable glycyrin. Can someone please tell me this is ok to use?

Is there anything available I can print out to give to the 17 million people I have asking what the heck I am smoking?

el lobo furtivo, You just jumped right into it! I don't have a Joye, but I know what you mean about bite..but I have the opposite problem, I don't want it, I am such a wimp! It just makes me cough.
I think you will have to try a couple of juices and brands to find the one that suits your taste! Lots of people find that they get good throat hits with a P.V. (e-cig) I am sure they will tell you how..lol.
Glycerin is fine to use to cut your nic back, just remember to look for USP or food grade on the label. Also, the more you cut, the weaker the flavor will be. If it makes your liquid too thick use a clear alcohol (like vodka or grain..not rubbing!) or a distilled water to thin it out. You can also use P.G. or V.G. for the same result.
I like coffee, chocolate, butterscotch or fruit flavors and use some LorAnn's candy flavoring (a drop will do) to add flavor when I cut. You can just add those flavorings to P.G. or V.G. and make your own...once you get into it.
I made my own cards that just say ELectronic Cigarette Forum on them with the address. I also give out cards from my favorite suppliers when I run into someone who asks about my 901. There are several threads on the board about people sharing designs. Pay it forward is a good way to reward your suppliers and help new people off analogs.
Welcome to ECF!:D

Thanks for the advice so far!

The glycerin I found at Walmart does say USP on the label so I'm good there. I've already been snooping around the DIY forum and have some decent ideas on how to make my own. Yesterday I hit Michaels, JoAnns, Walmart, Giant Eagle, Buehlers and Acme in an attempt to find flavors. I managed to find almond, vanilla and butter. That's it. Walmart had 3 of the Loranns but they were all the oil based flavors. I know I will have to order online but in the mean time, is there another store I'm missing that might carry some of these flavors?

Try calling a cake making supplier type of place in your area for LorAnn flavorings.

Totally Wicked juice has a good bite to it but it is a little more expensive than other juices, but worth it to get the throat hit. I use their Marlboro flavor in 24mg. It might be helpful for us who might recommend a juice if we knew what you used to smoke.

Best wishes and welcome! :)

I made up a little card that I hand out. On one side I have listed about 8 web sites: the forum, a couple of informational web sites and about 5 reputable suppliers web addresses. On the other side is my definition/description of what a PV is. I print these on brochure type paper and then cut them up to the size of about a playing card. I then answer a few questions and then hand them a card if they want more indepth information.

wv2win, That's a good idea! I like giving people as much info as possible so they can look it all up when they have a chance.

El Lobo, You could also look up party supply stores, some of them have cake making sections. The one near me does. They carry the full line of Lorann's. They are not a chain though..unless you want to truck down to Kissimmee you are out of luck with that store..LOL.

Thanks for all the advice everyone! I used to smoke Marlboros but I'm not so much concerned with keeping the tobacco flavor, I would rather find something that tastes good. I'll try hitting up some cake decorating places and party stores tomorrow.

Also, the buzz has already started to go away. I think I was taking too hard a drag. I have since backed off and noticed it subsided.

Be careful of Butter flavors!

It seems there is a butter flavor ingredient called Diacetyl that is known to cause lung disease.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...oking/2666-inhaling-flavouring-chemicals.html

LorAnn do not use diacetyl in their flavourings

Bickfords (Flavors) say this "As far as diacetyl in our products, most of our products are diacetyl-free, however, we cannot guarantee that for all our products."

Lots of great info on DIY flavors/juices here:
