Hey! Been lurking for awhile and decided to pop in and say hi, finally. I got my first ecig, a 510-T (yeah, yeah, yeah, I know) about three weeks ago. When I was pregnant with my son, my husband suggested an ecig when I mentioned that I missed smoking socially, and I thought he was a ..... for it. But a friend of ours recently switched over, let me try hers, and I was hooked. My 510-T actually came while my 6-week-old was in the hospital having unexpected surgery, so how about good timing...

And within a few weeks, I'm hooked. Whenever we're driving somewhere, my hubs likes to steal one of my setups and vape along too, and it's nice for both of us not to have to worry about little man breathing in crap off our clothes. I'm looking to upgrade to something that can take thicker e-juices than 75/25 PG/VG in the near future, and maybe shove the 510 off on the hubs (shhhhh.)

Anyway, I've gotten a huge amount of info off here in my quest to start vaping, and hope to return the favor! :)

Congrats and welcome to ECF! My oldest is about to graduate college and I wish I'd had vaping as an option when mine were little. My youngest is very happy about my vaping - he used to rip up my packs of smokes while I chased him around the yard when he was little. Guess you won't have that problem!

First, welcome! I don't get your comment about the 510 though. Those are good units. I vape an Ego, but I still have my 510-T on standby - that was the unit that got me off cigarettes. Did someone ridicule you about the 510?

A little bit. I've slso seen a lot of crap in various places about the 510 and eGo being kinda junky/beginner pieces. There's always someone who wants to show how much better they are than everyone else based on their equipment ;) I'm more interested in finding a mix of equipment and liquid that works for ME. Expecting about 11 sample size bottles from The Vapor Room and three bigger from Backwoods Brew early this week to do just that!

Welcome Tham! I lurked for about 3 months before I joined.

If the 510 works for you then that is all you need and it doesn't matter if other people put it down. My husband and i started on the Blu Cigs and a lot of people have negative opinions about them but I am smoke free today because of them. I have Provaris, Saber Touches and Bombshell Mods but I still use my Ego in certain places. I don't think there is anything wrong with the Egos at all as long as they are Genuine Joye. It sounds like you are doing your research to find what ecig will best meet your needs and that's good. The quicker you can get to the best ecig for you the more money you'll save. I think that is what some people are trying to convey, they may not be putting down your choice but trying to save you money and time buying 2 or 3 different kits only to find you end up with the ecig people said you would anyway. My hubby and I went from Blu to 510 to Ego to Ego tanks before we settled on the tanks and the owner of the store tried to tell us to get Ego tanks to begin with. :)

You hit the nail on the head - it's about what works for YOU. As for those people talking smack about 510's and Ego's - well...I guess I'd feel pressured to justify spending 3 times as much for something that does the same thing too if I wasted money on shiny junk. 510's and Ego's are fine. Finding the right juice and the right delivery (carts, tanks, cartos) is where the differences are made. Batteries are batteries. Good luck!
