I just bought the Cubis. Does it perform well with the .5 coils? How do you like your Cubis Pro? I have a Cubis and have been very happy with it. I decided to order a second but now have a Cubis Pro on the way instead.
I think they are using stock coils. It likely has to do with the wicking - check your cotton, make sure it's not too loose or tight, and it's wet enough around the coils. Apart from that, it could be a high nicotine juice (>6mg), and you should try lowering your wattage.
What is you nicotine strength?I just received the Joyetech Cubis tank and I am using the .5 Cubis coil but it is burning my throat a little. Any thoughts on why this is happening? I put 3 drops of juice on the cotton and then I let it sit in the tank for about 10-15 minutes. I currently have my device set to 18 watts. I don't know the vg/pg mix of the juice because it was a free bottle and it doesn't say on the bottle. Any help is much appreciated.
It is a 6 mg nicotine but I have been using a 6 mg for over a month now and I have not experienced this before until recently. If it helps, I was using the .5 coil that came included with the tank. I heard that those are not good coils sometimes.I think they are using stock coils.

It is possible you got a bad coil, the tank itself is decent (not my favorite) and there are other coils that work with it that you may want to try. I don't sub-ohm so don't care for the .5 coils myself. Well the coil says 15-30 watts. After I primed it, I started at 16 watts and then I worked my way up to 19 watts but that didn't help.I would try lower the watts
I think I did get a bad coil. It started to smell burnt so I took the cotton out and looked at it and It was like a brown/black color. Also, the juice I was using was kinda clear but when I got the excess liquid out below the mouthpiece, it was very dark in color. Those coils are kinda strange because the airflow just hits the top of the coil because of the tank design there is no airflow under the coil. Sometimes they work good for me, and sometimes not so much. There are newer coils that came out when the Cubis Pro came out and they also work in the regular Cubis.I think I did get a bad coil. I have another device that takes the .5 Cubis coils and I was using a 70vg/30pg. Could it be that the juice is causing the problem? If so, I might have to back down to a 50/50 mix. Those coils are kinda strange because the airflow just hits the top of the coil because of the tank design there is no airflow under the coil. I usually don't have an issue with 70/30 juice, but sure wouldn't hurt to try if you have it to see if it makes a difference.I have another device that takes the .5 Cubis coils and I was using a 70vg/30pg. The high PG is what causes throat hit/ irritation. You got a bad coil..I have another device that takes the .5 Cubis coils and I was using a 70vg/30pg. Could it be that the juice is causing the problem? If so, I might have to back down to a 50/50 mix.
I think I did too. It was the one that came with the tank. Do you know what the best way to prime these .5 Cubis coils are? I have a little trouble with that too.The high PG is what causes throat hit/ irritation. You got a bad coil..
ARRGH! It's standardly written as PG/VG!I usually don't have an issue with 70/30 juice, but sure wouldn't hurt to try if you have it to see if it makes a difference.![]()
Yea, I might try that. I also have the Nautilus mini tank. I like the Cubis and the Nautilus but I think the Nautilus is my favorite between the two.I usually don't have an issue with 70/30 juice, but sure wouldn't hurt to try if you have it to see if it makes a difference.![]()
