Looks like I'm waiting until after the long weekend for my new toy. A quick google search brought up lots of complaints that nothing has left Mississauga since the 2nd and comments about a strike happening there (although I haven't come across a news article or anything to confirm that).

Thanks for the info.

While we're doing open letters:

Dear Canada Post Mississauga,

Will you tell your carrier for my area to actually try and deliver package in the mailbox before shoving a notice card in there? And when he does put the package(s) in the mailbox, could he, you know, maybe kind of eyeball its size to make sure that while it may just fit in the box from the other end, it can actually be removed from my end? And maybe not stack my paper mail on top of it so strategically placed that it falls back into the mail room when I so much as look at my package? Kthxbye.

PS: "Package" is not a euphemism.

Haha trade you mindfield. My guy will not even bring the package to my door (we have mail cut outs on our doors) instead I get the notification card..... The next day!
Oddly enough it's only for CP packages, if it's coming from USPS they just leave it at the door if it won't fit.

To the op. I hope they haven't lost your package!

Dear Canada Post!
Some days, your service is acceptable, others like today, your service sucks. Your carriers do not even attempt delivery eventhough the mailbox is across the street from my house. When a delivery card is left, there is zero consistancy as to when the package is available for pickup. If carrier A does the run, it is available immidiately. If carrier B is doing the run, then who know when it wil be available. My local post office also seems to think it is funny to close at 5, so that there isn't a snowballs chance in hell to be able to pick the package up.

Thank you for your time.

Dear Canada Post Mississauga,

You have kept EVERY package that has been sent through your center for 2 days. WTF are you doing with them. It's not money, you cannot gain interest off of holding our vapegear!
Please learn from how Montreal does it. The package goes in and out!

Also, please remember to schedule another mail carrier/driver when the other one has the day off. That is all!

I submitted a ticket for my parcel to canada post. According to their site, an expedited item is "guaranteed" to be shipped on their projected date. My parcel arrived in their facility on April 2nd and is still sitting there, although their expected delivery time was on April 4th. I recommend anyone else with an item sitting in their facility to submit a ticket. Here is part of the message that I received in the mail from them:

You have provided all of the information required for us to proceed with the investigation. Your request has been assigned to one of our agents. You will be notified as soon as delivery of your item is confirmed. If a delivery scan remains unavailable on our tracking system five business days after the scheduled delivery date, the agent will contact you about next steps.

As part of the investigation, we will be contacting the addressee to confirm delivery. In some circumstances, delivery scans are unavailable even though items have been delivered.

Please be assured that we will contact you about your item.

e4212fbb4702b3a7e11987d1d681.jpg The Mississauga post office is not a post office - It is the largest and busiest parcel, publications and admail sortation facility. Last year, Gateway processed about 1.8 billion pieces of admail and publications, 50 million parcels and 42 million packets. Gateway, which opened in 1975, employs some 2,000 workers at the one million-sq.-ft. facility.

It's freakin' huge!

I keep imagining a group of Canada Post Vapers, sitting in a large dark room at a round table. There is a mountain of vapemail sitting in the center of the table, and they each try all of the devices and juices and "lose" the packages they really wish to keep while clearing the rest.

It's a conspiracy I tells ya!!
