It's difficult to convey tone with just text so I want you to know up front that this message is meant to be friendly and I hope you take it as such.
I placed my first order this weekend and also decided to sign up for the forum. Why not, right?
Then a few days later, I got an email (which I deleted) essentially saying I was denied
because you have requirements about who can join. I can't remember them all, but it was something along the lines of 3 orders, one of them being in the last month or so & using the same email address as your orders. [Correct me if I'm wrong about those, like I say, I deleted the email.]
I just went back to double check, but no where does it say this when you register for the forum (or did I miss something?) and I think maybe you could save your customers some time (& the sting of rejection) as well as YOUR some time and aggravation if this is clearly posted at the registration process.
I have absolutely no beef with the fact that you have requirements to join, hey, it's your forum - just that they should probably be stated up front and are probably a little steep.
And IMHO, it I think should be 1 order should be plenty to entry- if a customer who just spent $45 at your site wants to interact with your company/site, you are maybe shooting yourself in the foot by having it be so difficult to enter. Also, I know there are people who signed up, not knowing the requirements and then don't want to go back to sign up after getting a rejection email. It's just not.. not.. a really nice way to interact with customers.
That's my gentle opinion, but I'm guessing you have your reasons -- so I'm honestly (and gently) curious - what's the need for the requirement of 3 orders before forum entry?
Thanks so much, looking forward to my first order!
