It's difficult to convey tone with just text so I want you to know up front that this message is meant to be friendly and I hope you take it as such.

I placed my first order this weekend and also decided to sign up for the forum. Why not, right?

Then a few days later, I got an email (which I deleted) essentially saying I was denied:glare: because you have requirements about who can join. I can't remember them all, but it was something along the lines of 3 orders, one of them being in the last month or so & using the same email address as your orders. [Correct me if I'm wrong about those, like I say, I deleted the email.]

I just went back to double check, but no where does it say this when you register for the forum (or did I miss something?) and I think maybe you could save your customers some time (& the sting of rejection) as well as YOUR some time and aggravation if this is clearly posted at the registration process.

I have absolutely no beef with the fact that you have requirements to join, hey, it's your forum - just that they should probably be stated up front and are probably a little steep.

And IMHO, it I think should be 1 order should be plenty to entry- if a customer who just spent $45 at your site wants to interact with your company/site, you are maybe shooting yourself in the foot by having it be so difficult to enter. Also, I know there are people who signed up, not knowing the requirements and then don't want to go back to sign up after getting a rejection email. It's just not.. not.. a really nice way to interact with customers.

That's my gentle opinion, but I'm guessing you have your reasons -- so I'm honestly (and gently) curious - what's the need for the requirement of 3 orders before forum entry?

Thanks so much, looking forward to my first order!

Since it is intended to be a very tight knit community of Ms T's fans, we do have requirements. We look at every person who applies, because most people may not realize that the overwhelming number of applicants are spammers from certain countries using bogus email addresses who are looking to clog the forum with advertisements about cheap ......, porno, and a wide variety of other stuff. If you have ever been to a forum that has been infiltrated by this spam, you know what I mean. It is amazing how much of this kind of stuff attracts that sort of attention. Most of these are easily verifiable as spammers and of course they do not even receive a reply. For those who are not spammers, we would just like to know that they are Ms T's fans so we can keep the forum a clean, respectable and again, tight-knit place for all of those who enjoy its use. It is nothing personal if you are not accepted right away. We do want you there, we just want to keep it a small community for those who really want to be there and contribute.

In fact I believe you did miss something in the reading. If you are unregistered, the only room you can visit is called the Front Porch. Within this room is plenty of information about the forum. The thread you must have missed is called "REQUIRED READING: REGISTERING FOR MS T'S HOUSE" The information you are asking about is there. I'm sorry that you do not approve of our method, but we are making our best attempt to preserve the cleanliness, integrity and security of the forum to make it a good experience for those who wish to be a part of it. We hope that you will come back again soon, and that you will try to understand our reasoning.
