I’ve been using KR808D-1 XL manual battery 3.7v - 380 mah with hi res 3.0-3.2 ohm cartomizers. The problem is the Flavor intensity is faint, weak after just two - 3 minute vapes on a fully charged battery.

I’m using really great eliquid – putting about 30 drops in the hi res cart, but after the first 5 minutes of vape, almost just like like vaping smoke or dry air. Flavor is very weak. Not enough to keep me off analogs.

I don’t care about getting tons of vapor – all I need is to find out what I need to get good, strong Flavor. Some people call it “hitting the sweet spot.”

From what I’ve studied so far, It looks like there are 2 options on the Ego for Superior Flavor:
Option 1
Get an Ego with a manual 900 mah battery – (I want to use KR808 cartomizers) so I’ll need an adapter for them – then I will have to find some good quality lo res 2.0 ohm KR808 cartomizers.
Is anybody doing this? Do you get really good strong flavor?
Where can I get the adapter and KR808 lo res cartomizers?

Option 2
Ego manual 900 mah battery with a Debridged Atty.
Supposedly dripping on an Ego debridged atty gives Great Flavor.
Is anybody doing this? Do you get really good strong flavor?

Since you’re dripping and not using a cart – (2 drops of juice on the atty)
How many short 2 minute vapes can you get off a 2 drop – drip? Just 1 vape, then you have to drip again?

Do you basically clean your atty once a day? How long does a Debridged Atty last?
Couple of weeks..a month?

costeve,

I started with the kr808d1 xl battery and the pt using boge 3ohm carto's; I was having the same issue with the xl battery not getting a strong enough hit--at least if I did, it didn't last very long with the battery. The 808 pt, which I am still using with boge 3ohm carto's works great and I use it at home while working at my desk. But I needed something while I was out and about.

I bought the ego 650mah and paired it with boge 510 lr carto's (2ohm) and I found it accomplished everything I needed it to do: tons of vapor, great TH and flavor. If you are set on using the 808 carto's, you can get the boge 808 2ohm carto's with an adaptor (510 to 808) from many vendors--I get my supplies from litecigusa.net.

I considered the ego 900mah battery, but went with the 650mah because it was offered with the usb connector on the battery--so I didn't have to buy a separate charger.

Also, the nice thing about the 510 carto's versus the 808 carto's is that they hold about twice the amount of juice.
good luck

Hi Gatorfan,

Thanks for your feedback on my KR808 flavor problem.
I had another question for you: I need to identify which atty and cart you're using from the LiteCig USA site.
There's about 3 different types.
The Ego has several different type attys and 510 carts.
You said you use Boge 510 lr 2 ohm carts - they hold about twice the juice as kr808 carts.
I'm not sure which one you're using. Are these 510 mega carts, lr carts?
Could you tell me which cart this is on the LiteCig USA site?

Also, I need to identify which atty you're using from the LiteCig USA site- is it a mega atty,an lr atty?
How can I identify the atty on the LiteCig USA site?

How many drops of juice do you put in your cart? 20,30...

Thanks for your help.

costeve,

Just to make sure we are speaking about the same thing. I was replying specifically to option 1: cartomizers, not carts and attys.

In reference to boge 510 lr cartomizers, you will find it listed on litecig's site as: 510 low resistance boge soft cap blank cartomizers; If you look under the description for these carto's it will tell you that they are rated at 2ohm--these are not the mega carto's, those hold about 2ml on liquid but you will be required to use a syringe to fill those.

As far as how many drops of liquid these 510 carto's hold, I believe it is around 30 drops. I am not exactly sure because I use a eye dropper than came with one of e-juices and use it to measure out 1ml of juice that I put into a carto condom and fill my carto's that way(if you don't know about condom method of filling, there are many youtube videos showing this method, and I have found to be the best way, at least for me, to fill my carto's.

The lr 808 cartomizers are listed as: 1 premium low resistance soft cap blank cartomizer. Again, if you look under the description of this carto it will show that it is rated at 2ohm. Please be aware you cannot use these lr carto's with you kr808d1 battery or pt, but with an adaptor they should work fine with the ego.

Please do not hesitate to contact shawn at litecig's with any questions...he will be glad to answer all of your questions and point you in the right direction.

hope this helps

p.s. Based on my results so far with the ego and lr boge carto, I think this may work for you. But taste isn't limited to just your hardware, the juice you are using definitely has a big impact--some vendors have stronger taste, while others are more subtle.

Thanks - just got a couple other questions to clarify:
So it sounds like you’re not using the KR808D-1 cartomizers and an adaptor with the Ego.
You’re using the 510 LR carts with the separate Ego 510 atty.
Are you using the “cylinder shape/type B Ego Atomizers” or the 510 LR atty?

How often do you clean your atty? Daily? 1x/week?
How long does an atty last before you have to replace it? on average – a week. 2 weeks?

Which end do you put the condom on to fill your juice? The battery end or mouthpiece end?

What kind of juice are you using? PG only..VG only.. PG 50%-VG 50%..
I’m using a 50%VG-50%PG that is pretty thick and very syrupy.
Thanks

Not much experience with cartos, but the debridged 510 is quite nice compared to bridged, I would say 50% more flavor three drips on a primed atty usually gets me about 4 to 5 good heavy vapes before I have to drip again.. I do know that joyetech does not make a high drain batt for the ego so any LR atty or carto you use will shorten your batt life not just runtime but total batt life and could kill it all together as if it were defective but you don't hear of it happening too often maybe because people are not realizing their mistake and chalking it up to faulty merchandise....
