Well figuring my order wouldnt be here for a week I went ahead and grabbed an ego-c from a local vendor who loves hers and... i wonder if i the provari purchase was unnecessary. I am very new to vaping and this ego-c might be all I need.

If that is the case maybe i will see it for 10 % off what i paid.

I know it was kinda dumb to get the ego after ordering the bmw of vapes but i was out of ecigs and at 10 bucks a piece i would of spent 80 bucks pretty quick anyhow.

Just figured some of you may get a kick out of that lol

who knows I may end up keeping both cause... the provari would be great for home kinda big on the go. Thats why else i grabbed it instead of a few disposable e-cigs

I would have told you that the Provari is overkill on a 1st purchase but you seemed confident. That being said it is a sound investment. Put your Twist aside once the Provari comes in and use as a back up, or to share the experience with a smoking friend.

As far as the cap, I am undecided since I am thinking of taking it public a lot until I find a nice portable cheaper version that isnt junk. ( the mini would be too much for a 2nd one starting out )

I though about getting 3 regular batteries. Tho if the cap and bigger really make that much of a difference. I will go that route from the start

I didn't buy the extension cap when I first bought my provari but a few days after vaping with the ones the kit came with, I regretted that decision. I vape pretty heavy though so it might be just right for you. I have no problems walking around with my provari

I've thought of using these batteries, but........... The problem is, again, the Provari was built and designed around the AW IMR's. Can you guarantee the OP that these will work, 100% without a doubt? I can't! I've heard too many stories of people buying a Provari and the batteries they bought not working.
This is the same reason I've not bought any of them as well.

Good point. It IS quite a difference in price, $7 vs $11 @RTD.

I guess I'm a brand name kinda guy. If it was me, I'd stick with my trusted AW's. Then no sweating it. I guess I'm just kinda cautious about lesser-name batteries since I had a Trustfire protected battery blow up in a mod.

Don't get me wrong, I've got some EH batteries, they work great in flashlights, work great in my LT clone, etc. I'm all for saving a buck, believe me! And if I ever found a good price on my dream 18650 extension for the Provari mini, they would be the first things to go into it! BUT, I already own and use them, so I'm not out anything! If they don't work, which I honestly have no idea if they will, I'd order some AW's and be fine with that.
I don't think they are a bad battery, I've heard a lot of good, and happy reports about them. But I can't say with 100% certainty, they will work! I've heard of people using them and they are great. I've heard of people using them, and they don't! I really, honestly don't know!

Just going to add my 2 cents here...

I originally bought the Provape batteries and the cheaper charger. Im a very heavy vaper so after a year, they werent charging as well as they used to.

I went looking for cheaper batteries as well. Found them too. First problem I had was I was sent flathead batteries. those dont work in my provari ( though Im sure someone will bring up spacers and such, but why go through the hassle. ) Second problem I had with the next batch of "cheap" batteries was they were from a different manufacturer and the posts were all shorter than the provape sold ones. I adjusted the spring and it worked but its always been touchy with those batteries.

And eventually, I bought two more batteries from Provape.

Why? Because I know theyll work, I know theyll last and I dont have any worries about them like I would with cheaper ones.

Then my wifes charger stopped working ( she has a provari as well ) so I decided Id give her mine and get the Pila charger.

The Pila charger is a trickle charger. Yes, its more expensive, but when youve used the batteries for over a year, the normal charger wont charge them as well as when they were new. They would test at 3.8 at best. But once I put them on the Pila after I bought it, they would charge up to 4.2. I was able to get another 6 months out of the original batteries with the Pila charger.

Best Rechargeable Battery Chargers: Pila Battery Charger & Pila Charger

Its more expensive but totally worth it.

Some folks will also swear by the rebuild-able atties...I say more hassle. Why bother?

I want great performance with the minimum of tinkering. Mostly because whatever I do to MY Provari I have to do to my wifes as well and then teach her how to do it. Shes smarter than me and I always feel stupid trying to teach her something :) But also because im very very very busy. I need to be able to do whatever I need to do to my device on the run. Sometimes, in the car right before I walk into work. I dont want to be rebuilding an atty on my lunch break, I want to be vaping and relaxing.

So to keep the hassle to a bare minimum...get yourself one of these

510 DCT Cartomizer Tank - Large

Quick, easy and hassle free.

heres your atty:

510 DCT Punched Cartomizer 1.5 ohm

though I prefer the 3.0.to the 1.5.

Also you can find these DCT attys cheaper on several sites. But get the first couple with your order from Provape so you have them on hand when you buy from them initially. After that both Vermillion River and MyFredomSmokes have them about 75 cents cheaper per atty.

I use one atty per week ( I vape the same flavor all the time ) some people clean theirs and reuse them, but again, hassle...so I change my atty every Saturday morning and toss the old one. Easy and I always have good vapor production without any hassle.

Vidi makes some great points. I agree about the Pila charger. I've had mine for about 9 months along with AW batteries that I got along with it. The Pila charges them fast, and those older batteries are still as good as new. I predict it will be quite a good while before I need to replace them.

I think there are FAR batter cartotanks out there than the Smoktech DCT that Provape sells. And I would never buy cartos from Provape, much better and cheaper elsewhere.

I can't say about the charger. I've been using an Xtar for a while. The Cartos??????????????????? well You can find as many different people with opinions about cartos as there are on ECF. And if your looking to save money, while I won't put down the Provari, (cause I'm using one now). But to start out with I don't recomend one. You got to learn what wattage, resistance, voltage etc that you want to use. Once that done then the Provari Is really nice. (Sorry fanboys but I still want a PreciesePlus and Kicklet). Anything that keeps you from the analogs is the best thing, no matter what the cost............................:2c:

I can't speak intelligently about weather AWs Li-MN (IMR) 2000mAh batteries are any better than EHs LI-MN (IMR) 2000mAh batteries.

The EH IMR 18650's are a hair taller then AW batteries.
Spec sheet: Manufacturers, Suppliers, Exporters & Importers from the world's largest online B2B marketplace-Alibaba.com

Both EH and AW are known to relabel high end Panasonic batteries...
Shenzhen Toby Technologies Makes the EH
Shenzhen Fest( EYoung) Technology Co. makes the AW
You tell me...

"The problem is, again, the Provari was built and designed around the AW IMR's". No it was built around the ability (charge/drain, C rating characteristics) of the battery, not the manufacturer. EH's specs are the same as AW except the AW has a C rating of 10, the EH is 8.
What does that mean?
You can discharge the AW at 20 amps in 3 minutes.
You can discharge the EH at 16 amps in 3.75 minutes.
Who's vaping at 75 watts anyway?

They are both high end quality batteries with the nod going to AW, But you are talking the difference between Ferrari's and Lamborghini's, not Honda's and Hugo's.

12 days .. .holy cow must be the color you picked. I got the silver blem and it was mailed within 12 hours ( so the shipping info says)

Thanks for all the help guys. You rock! I already killed a partially dead ego-c battery. Which makes me think buying 2 i did the right thing. The provari will be my couch / home unit. ( i work from home a lot )and i'll take the ego when im out and about.

I must say as far as build quality on the ego-c, it is made very well. Considering how much I like the honda ( i.e ego-c ) I cannot imagine how much I AM going to love the Lamborghini

Thank you guys for all the advice!
