I am taking this post from my Reddit thread because I'm trying to get information from both communities.

I think I've exited the noob stage of ecigarettes (not in the overall community, but rather a mark of personal growth for myself). I've been building Genesis tanks and am looking to move on to something else. What I'm getting at is for my home vape, I have a ProVari with a Cobra, which is fine because it never leaves my desk. It's fine because I find Genesis tanks tend to leak on me when they're not at home. The problem is my mobile vape is a MVPv2 with a Mini Pro Tank 2, and the tank is starting to taste like ..... Some days it barely holds enough eliquid for me. I spent a couple weeks entertaining the idea of rebuilding it with Ekowool... then it dawned on me.
Why am I wasting time with that idea?

I've had several people on ECF and a coworker of mine (Jon, if you're reading this, you ....ing rock dude!) telling me there is not a damned thing wrong with putting a high end tank on the MVPv2. I'm stuck in a mentality that you need to spend money on a mod to get a superb vape. Will it perform as good as a more advanced mod? Probably not. Do I need to spend money on a high end tank for a real good vape? Probably not (not the kind of money as the tanks mentioned in the thread title). But the key, ladies and gentlemen, is that I am interested in these tanks because: 1) Their propensity not to spill. 2) I can build my micro coils with cotton on them and get the flavor I've come to grow and love with similar builds on my Genny tanks. 3) I can throw it on my ProVari whenever I want if I wanna switch it up.

So therein lies the question. I just finished watching Pbusardo's comparison and he kind of affirmed what I already knew. They're very similar, minor differences in actual build. Although the Kayfun he reviewed was not the Plus, which gives airflow control. What I did take away was that one had a little bit of a hotter vape than the other. I tend to prefer cooler vapes, I don't like massive throat hits.
There are other reasons I want one of these high end tanks, but for now the primary purpose would be for my outside the apartment vape.

I'm going to check into some other reviews now, I watched a Rip Tripper one on the Kayfun Lite last night.

And no, I am not interested in clones, I will be purchasing the real deal.

I haven't tried the light plus but a worker at AZ Vape Club was telling me that the KFL+ had a tighter draw than the KFL when it was all the way open. What you want is a looser draw if you prefer a cooler vape. I own the russian and the draw is fairly loose. Not like my IGO-W with 2 1/8 inch holes or my trident clone with 1 1/8 inch hole, but the vacuum wouldn't work right with that kind of air flow. I basically use the dripper when I want a fat cloud, a good buzz, or I'm testing flavors and when I'm chain vaping or dripping is inconvenient(I know I know buy a REO..but after I pay tuition I'm gonna be broke) I use the Russian. It was a learning curve to get it to have good flavor, unrestricted air flow, and decent clouds. I've tried every wicking material I can think of except wire rope/mesh with hemp feeds. I prefer XC-116 with 28 Ga kanthal 1/8 inch 1.1 ohm mini coil and loose hemp fiber in the 4 corners near the ends of the XC-116. Thats just me though.

Can't you just loosen up the draw with the air control though?

I have the R91% and you can tailor your build to what you want in TH[tighten the airflow up],flavor[lower volts,or watts]vapor[open the airflow].And with a .5~ build the vape is exceptional.
My R91% has not leaked at all no signs what so ever.It holds enough liquid to go out and about [4 1/2ml's] and is great for either around the house or out. This device is my main go to RTA with a Taifun GT,and Aqua on the way.Making a build is easy and quick and DC build is not hard either. One main reason I love this tank is,i can swap out the plastic center tank for metal if I decide to mix any acidic juices.Lastly, filling the tank is simple but not made for out and about, not too many vapers are willing to carry around a syringe with them where ever they go.All in all the price is not bad for anexceptional RTA which,i left out,the pieces can be swapped 1:1 between the KF,and KFL.

I have a genuine KFL+, a Russian 91%, and a KFL+ clone. Best value for the money is the clone (mine is a tobeco variant).

The KFL+ looks the best - i prefer its finish. But i prefer the air flow system of the R91%. I like the side adjustment and also the angled air flow hole. I think it's a slightly smoother vape.

OP, you can't go wrong...they are both great.

Once you get one of them....I can almost guarantee that you will get the other anyway :)

I bought a Kayfun Lite Plus right when they came out.. because the regular Lite wasn't available the day I went to order.. it was now the plus. Sweet, Airflow control, Im down.

This would be my umpteenth rebuildable, but my first vaccum feed tank style. With all the hype, I said, you know, I really wouldnt mind not taking a bottle of juice with me when I need to vape on the go. Drippers in the car was getting old. SO, enter Kayfun Lite Plus.

I literally tried ten different builds within a weeks times, I gave this thing the full workout. and I DESPISED it. The flavor was NOT better than a dripper, and getting it to wick properly was a chore. and just overall, i was largely unsatisfied with the vape. Im a subohm guy, and I was building this at the suggested 1.2ish ohm.

I chucked it in the drawer and said, either I sell it when I want something new, or Ill leave it there for a rainy day.

Well it rained recently, so I tried it again.

Now, Im not really one for Micro coils, but even I wont deny, they make it very easy to change wicks without having to re do the whole coil. However, as much as everyone told me the kayfun didn't work properly at subohm, I decided, what the hell, I already hate this thing, might as well try it. So I twisted up a Micro coil, shooting for a little higher than usual for me.. .5ohm. I used 24 gauge so I could get a good number of wraps so the coil had some substance to it. Wicked it with organic cotton ball, and filled it with some juice. But, not wanting to waste juice, I only filled it with 2.5ml.

Sucess I tell you!! I vaped that whole tank down to nothing, and not one flood, not one dry hit, not nothing! Just superb, ALMOST as good as an RDA, vaping pleasure.

The rest of that week, everyday when I went out, I would rewick and choose a new juice. So here is what Ive learned:

-The kayfun lite plus does WORK ABSOLUTELY WONDERFULLY when running a subohm coil. IF thats your thing, don't listen to the masses saying it can't do subohm. My opinion, its the only way to vape it.

-The way you wick the coil, is CRUCIAL. SOOOO Crucial. Im used to RDAs, where, as long as you have enough wick to feed however aggressive a coil you've built, the extra just dictates how often you need to drip. Not on the Kayfun. It needs to be correct. The coil itself needs the right amount going through. Too tight, the cotton chokes. Too loose, and the coil with hotspot. And the legs.. If there is too much wick, the juice wont feed right. If there is too little, it will flood on you. I can't tell you how much is enough for your build, because it will be different build to build.. but, FOCUS you attention on this part of setting itup. If you're not satisfied, look at the wicking.

-Uber high VG juice is not the best friend of the Kayfun Lite Plus. Im talking like 100%, or 80%.. stuff like that. But 50-50 is fine, I chain vaped 50-50 juices three days straight with no problem.

-Lastly.. I feel the KFL+ works best when its not completely full.

So, there you have it. I went from absolutely hating this infernal thing, to liking it enough to leave my drippers at home when I need to be in the car or doing errands or at work or whatever. If I need to just be able to vape without thinking much about it, the KayfunLite allows me to do just that.

    rounding third and heading home...
if it's between the kfl+ and the russian 91% my vote is for the russian 91%. adjustable 510 post, doesn't have any whistling problems, and it is slightly cheaper. if you have to have only one that is the way to go. personally, i have both and some various clones and that is a much better way to go.......(get 'em all)

I have both the Russian 91 and KFL+. Performance-wise they are almost indistinguishable. For sheer looks, I lean toward the KFL+, however the Russian after takinf a scotchbrite pad to it is close to perfect as well. I seldom change the air flow so the Russian's side mounted AFC is not so important to me, but it is nice to know that I can adjust air without removing it. The Russian's adjustable center pin is a winner, however I've read that there is a KFL+ V2 that does have the adjustable center pit. You can't go wrong with either. For that matter, the two KFL+ clones from Fasttech are great as well.

I have no experience with the KFL but and can lend my insight with the Russian 91% and the Russian 91% v2. I have been using my REO grands for years and recently received a Provari mini as a bday gift. Researched around a little and bought the 91%. Easy builds and all in all very pleased with it. No leaks etc.... I'm one to all ways have a back up device around and bought a 2nd 91% not realizing it was a v2 with the spring loaded center pin. The spring load pin was not well suited for the provari mini and ohms were fluctuating all over the place. The pin is easy enough to replace with the standard pin. The adjustable center pin is great and almost a must with a provari. The concern I had with the adjustable pin was it was just to loose for my liking when adjusted out, so I have double stacked two of the tiny o ring on the center pin to create a little more resistance when the screw is adjusted out. Great product and no regrets......
