So, I'm going to order a provari but can't decide on the satin, white or black finish for the mini. Anyone have suggestions? I haven't seen one in person so I'm somewhat relying on photos on google and on the forum here. Do the colored ones hold up? I've read some people complaining about the finish peeling off but maybe those are on older models. Thanks!

Wellll....
It's a tough finish - but it is a coating, so the black or white CAN get chipped.
Not as easy as you'd think - there are plenty of drops on floors that do NOT damage even the finish - but eventually, it'll happen.
The satin is apparently the best at HIDING a small scratch, and of course, you could give it a NEW finish - with steel wool, or a scrub-pad or something. And any of them could be put in a wrap or a leather holder if you want to.

It's really about what you're going to like best!

I got a black one. Then a couple weeks later - I got another black one.
Next time, I think I'm gonna get a satin one.
:D

My satin is my daily driver and I don't care what happens to it cause it's always gonna look great. My black lives in a sleeve most of the time because of the finish. My wedding ring has marked it up some. I am super .... and would suggest the satin if you like it to look good for a long time with no worries.

Goodluck on making a decision. The oldest one that I have is a purple one that's over a year old & is still in like new condition after being tossed in my purse nearly everyday & knocked over countless times. If you want a colored finish but you're nervous about it I'd suggest buying a clear j-wrap for it. Atleast that way you can get the color you desire without having to worry about it.

I have a satin finish, which is just media blasted stainless. I think that my next one will be either another satin or one of the new ZenKote models.

The Cerekote finished ones have a durable finish, but it's not indestructible.

Good advice... Start with a Satin finish as it is the most durable.. If you want a color then go with the Zenkote (Gold).. The Cerekote will chip if dropped plus after awhile it will wear through in spots... Mine all did and I baby my mods..

If it rolled around in your purse for a year, I bet I could find all kinds of marks on your Purple Provari ..... Small as they may be, I will see them.. Mine all developed small marks where you could see the Stainless below.. Marks about this big ( / ) then more started to show up..My Provaris were never dropped and carried in a PV felt carry bag when leaving the house..

My first ProVari is a standard size satin finish with the standard red LED. Won at a vape meet. Husband now using.

My second is a bronze mini with a red LED. Birthday present. Not as severe as black and goes with many colors I wear during fall and winter.
My third is a polished mini with a blue LED. Anniversary present. Sparklely like a piece of jewelry and because of dimples fingerprints don't show.
Just got a white mini with green LED. What the heck.....Easter's coming, spring is here......and hubbs is eyeing the bronze! :D

Well, I went through the same decision making process and decided on the polished full size w/extension. I got a Serenity Gear leather holster for it which is one of the best investments any Provari owner can make IMHO. I figured that the extra size is worth the longer battery life, for me anyway, that's why I went full size. I couldn't be happier with my setup! I am going to try to get some pics up soon. :2c::toast:

I read in another thread that someone got the bronze finish provari recently and was disappointed because the finish had started to wear off. I got the white one because someone else remarked that he had that one and the finish held up very well. I have only had mine for a few days, but I like the color, and it stays home. I wanted pink, but it isn't offered any more. I'm already contemplating buying another color...maybe the zombi or green/blue hybrid.

Update: I decided to order the green/blue hybrid with blue led. If the pink one ever comes back, I'll be one of the first to order.
