IMHO, the most important anti-vaping propaganda has come from the CDC, the FDA, and the many entities that receive government grants for tobacco research. If I were an ANTZ within one of those organizations, I'd be laying low right now.

Someone just posted today that the Navy banned e-cigs on the ships? I don't know anything about that. Does anyone else?

I saw that post. On one hand, I get it does make sense not having vape gear blowing up on a Navy ship, especially near stuff like ammunition. However, I have no helpful suggestion for how to vaporize juice without electricity so had no idea what to offer that poster. This is probably where simple pod like setups are best used, but once vape gear is banned, it's tough to get an exemption on just one style of gear.

It was coming. I think the response is an over reaction and I bet it's revisited but fire is serious business on ships in general and military ships in particular. There were a couple of incidents which I bet involved mech mods and the Navy isn't bothering to make distinctions at this point. I search for ecig news almost daily and may be there is less fake science stories. A few States seem to generate most of the ecig news when political activity is pending. Having Trump become president provides a distraction. He's promised to reduce regulations. The likely new FDA boss Gottlieb has been involved in an ecig business so he won't be able to BS the topic and he's probably on our side, for the most part. It may also be that the political folks are starting to realize that putting the vaping genie back in the bottle won't be so easy.

Plenty of anti vape propaganda still out there. We just don't notice anymore after their saturation bombing approach desensitized us to it.
Drop a 22,000lb bomb and you don't hear anything about vaping.

Does anyone else notice the anti-vaping propaganda has almost stopped?

Once the word "Trump" shows up this will get fun.
    Watch and see.

I think there just comes a point in a Non-Science based argument where the Science starts to gain Traction over the Hype. And the Pendulum starts to swing back to Reason and Normality.

I kinda think that is where we are Now in the USA.

I agree, but that pendulum can swing slowly. If either the new FDA Commissioner, or Congress can delay the worst effects of the vape apocalypse for a few years, the science will definitely be on our side.

I think on most things e-Cigarette-wise, science has Always been on our side. Our Problem has been the Distortion of Science by Agenda Seekers. And the Media's desire for Market Share by publishing these distortions.

I agree that New Thinking at the FDA could have a Big Impact on the e-Cigarette market at the Federal level. As could a Favorable Ruling in the NicoPure et al vs FDA lawsuit.

I just Hope that some Amount of Advocacy can be Maintained? Mainly on the Retail Level. Because when the Anti-Vaping Hype declines, so does Advocacy.

And as the Famous Political Quote goes... "If you don't like something, and you can't outlaw it, then tax the hell out of it."

IMO, the ANTZ think they won with the FDA deeming regs. No need to flood the media with crap stories any longer. Hopefully they are mistaken.

(Oh, and I held my tongue and didn't mention he who must not be named in this thread)
I just bought another mod because you said FDA.

My heart broke when I read that. I really really hope it's not true.:(
I've read a couple stories and from what I can tell it's, for now, a temporary ban set to go into effect next month, while they figure out what their policy should be.

It's a tough call. It's obviously better for the sailors than smoking, but if you've got people not being responsible with potentially very dangerous devices in close quarters, I can see where the navy would want to err on the side of caution.

The evidence is growing day by day as more studies are being completed, the "We just don't know enough" statement used by many of the "Anti's" just doesn't hold the same weight it used to.

Anyone with an open mind and properly educated on the subject see's value in making the switch.

I do still almost on a daily basis fight misleading articles by replying to them stating facts and linking studies that disprove the propaganda, not sure if it helps but it will help to sway public opinion of those who read the comments.
