Decrease sweetness and increase throat hit...

I'm a DIY eliquid guy, but I was wondering something. I created a mix 50/50, 18mg nic, 15% flavor Cinnamon Red Hots. Tastes great, but I'm not a huge fan of the sweet flavors. Anyway, with this mix, I'm experiencing a lot of sweetness aftertaste from the cinnamon. I was wondering, is there anything I could add to pull away from the sweetness but maintain the hot spicy taste of the Red Hot extract?

Also, in DIY, do you increase throat hit by changing the PG/VG ratio? Like increase the PG and decrease the VG? That's what I'm reading anyway, just wanted insight from other DIY guys...

Thanks!

If it's the TFA version you're referring to, 15% seems pretty high for cinnamon red hots. It's already quite sweet on its own. Flavour Art's Bitter Wizard is designed to reduce sweetness. You may want to give it a try. Bitter Wizard by FlavourArt

High PG liquids tend to impart more throat hit than high VG liquids.

More PG = More Throat Hit.
More VG = More Vapor.

You might try doing another Batch with the Same Flavoring and go with 70% PG to 30% VG.

It should Increase the TH and Decrease the Sweetness Slightly.

I concur with the above. Increasing the PG and decreasing the VG should get your desired juice. 70/30 seems to be a good place to start. Also, with the PG you probably won't want to use as high of a percentage of that flavoring. Without manipulation (adding water, etc) PG seems to carry flavor better and you may overdo it (if you aren't already) at 15%

Thanks Face! I'll check that out.

Thanks all! I'll try the different measurements first and see how that works. I'll also try Face's recommendation of using the "bittner" stuff to see if I can bring down some of the sweetness.

I just made a mix tonight 7.5% Cinnamon Red Hots and 7.5% Hot Tamale ...we'll see how that tastes...thanks again! Have to let it steep for a few days before I try it, but we'll see...
