Hi all,
I've been vaping 2-3 months and now down to 1 meal a day. I use 18mg 50/50 pg/vg or higher pg/vg. I'm worried about my appetite, I would usually eat 2-3 meals, now am down to 1. I am a chain vaper, so wondering if this could be the cause or the pg/vg ratio.
I was hoping someone has heard of this before, or been through it.

Hi mh1972, I haven't been on the forum very long, but so far this is the first I've heard of vaping causing a decrease in appetite. FYI, though, I can tell you that I've been eating one meal a day for over 50 years (as a smoker and now as a vaper) and I am still alive and quite healthy! :)

You post isn't clear, so I'll ask: Is it that you're unable to eat more than once a day, or is it that you simply don't have the appetite to do so?

I just don't have the appetite anymore, good to know you only eat one meal a day.

First of all, why don't you try small snacks through the day? Your body needs sustenance, and even if you have no appetite, sometimes you just gotta suck it up and eat! (Most people want to eat too much and have very little sympathy for those of us with "poor" appetites, lol!)

I would caution you, if you continue with one meal a day (which is something no nutritionists is going to be okay with), to be extra careful that it's giving you a balanced diet. And of course, if you're losing too much weight or feel it's affecting your overall health, see your doctor! There may be some other factors at work other than your vaping.

Best of luck.

Most people don't eat because they are hungry - they eat because their tastebuds have a craving , or for emotional comfort.
With Vaping, your taste buds are very, very happy , and your emotional comfort needs are met ... so all that is left is when you
are seriously hungry.

If you have a balanced meal, you are fine . I'd still add a multi vitamin just in case you know.
If not, in addition to the daily vitamin, you might plan some healthy snacks.

Some families eat 3 meals a day - period
Others eat small meals and snacks

English poor folk used to drink gruel for breakfast (think runny oatmeal in a coffee cup with seasonal additives, spices, herbs, veggies, ect) - lunch was water/milk with a bit of bread and cheese and maybe a piece of fruit , and dinner was really, really late and the only real meal of the day.

Really poor folk skipped everything except the gruel for breakfast and dinner

So, depending on your heritage, you may have been genetically engineered to do just fine on one meal a day.
If you are healthy, your doctor does some tests and you are not deficient in necessary "stuff"
You will be just fine , eating a balanced diet only when you are hungry.

Might be a good idea to see your doc.

Otherwise, try reducing your nicotine content, and taking some vigorous exercise. I'm guessing you don't get much exercise because someone who walks a couple of miles a day and does a half-hour workout will eat just fine. If they don't, they are ill, and need to see a doctor.

Hey thanks for all your replies. I think I fixed my problem, I switched to 100% VG and lowered my nicotine amount to 12mg. So far.. everything has returned to normal, not sure why this worked but I knew it had something to do with vaping since it started exactly when I took it up. Been using virgin vapors juice and my hunger came back within a day, so I am real happy with that :) I did some research here on the forums about PG messing with peoples stomachs sometimes giving them acid reflux and so on, so that's why I tried all VG.
