Oh back to deeming regulations. Should everyone own a Rio grand? Because I have one in my cart, and I am near pulling the trigger. LOL someone TELL me to do it. DO I really need the spa package? It's me so I might.

Anna

Can't really give you a yes or no, just some thoughts...You get one and love it...now they are gone so no more REOs for you! Excepting the secondary market...You get one and it's not your cup'o tea...secondary market has been slow on these and with no support, yeah...there's that.

I have a bunch of different REOs and for the last two years have used mainly two of them...they don't break if you are not a button masher, and work fine if you do the maintenance of cleaning the contacts occasionally and giving them a good bath, they are relatively simple to fix if something like a broken contact or a sagged spring from a short, IF you have the parts. They are also in my mind one of the safest mech mods due to the open box design, and the hot spring.

Mech vaping is a different animal then regulated vaping, as when the battery looses charge there is a subtle yet noticeable change in the vape produced, I actually enjoy this aspect, and it kind of harkens back to my early vaping experience with Evod type batteries...Lots to consider, time is short...Good luck.

I'm guessing the spa package won't be much use after the company folds.
Spa treatment will be a no brainer non existent entity, but the rebuild kits , if that is what was meant, are the main items that usually will be needed to get a REO back to normal operating status...

Yes indeed. I just ordered two P67s with a bunch of spare parts. But the spa package is still offered ("refurbishment/replace most of the internal hardware of your mod. Parts replaced include: push button, positive contact, spring, bottle, bottle cap, feed tube"). I suspect anyone opting for it now will be gently told that it's pointless.

The website hasn't been updated for a while, This message is still prominently displayed: "We will be out of the office starting November 20 until November 26 for our Thanksgiving vacation. All orders received while we are out will be processed and shipped by November 27, 2018."

I also did once say out loud (me and my husband were disusing fantasies! It was not real!) but I said, "You know if I were queen and had absolute power I would kill all the people I hated, and maybe maim the ones I love to keep around as servants, so they couldn't like, take off...."

My husband never let me forget THAT one, dude, it's been horrible. Sometimes out of the blue he'll say "maim the ones you love, huh?"

I think Stephen King stole your idea for Misery. Your hubby might have been the leak.

DO IT! Get some spare hot springs, firing pins, and maybe some of the left-hand threaded 510 screws. With a few spare parts, it's a lifetime device.

That said, a REO Grand is not everyone's cup of tea. Yet everyone should own one. It's a mech, but as safe as a mech can possibly be. Those hot springs really do work in case of a short, and on top of that, there's no way for a run-away battery to produce any over-pressure in it.

I'm sort of holding off at the moment.... I jus t don't see me squonking but yea one day forever they would be gone and then maybe I would TRY to squonk, if I had a Reo. I believe I thought the spa treatment WAS spare parts but like, it's not.

That website is riddled with errors actually. It says "build your mod" and then says you get everything in the package, including a door but then it immediately directs you to buy a door which is 11 bucks so not really a big deal, but it's not the greatest website of all time.

I will muse on it.

If I saw squonking as my preferred vape into the sunset, I'd have a couple REO's by now. Since it's just something I do as an occasional option, I picked up a couple inexpensive regulated squonkers. More of a "stocking up for future variety" than necessary.

I have one too many sentimental favorites, so I'll leave the plunder for the REOnauts. Get 'em while you can!

It is sad to see the end of another key player in the American vape journey. The excitement and quirkiness of these vendors' developments and new releases are missed. My F5 key sees little use.

Which ones are your sentimental favorites?

I thought it strange they wouldn’t just sell the company, much in the same manner they bought it. I wonder if along with being busy, they’re just preparing for the FDA shut downs. I wonder if someone were to quickly offer up a Reo 2.0 of some sort if they would see much resistance from the Reo company in regards to infringement.

Who would buy it with the PMTA deadline 8-1/2 months away? The company isn't big enough to file a credible PMTA, and even if they did, I think the chances of the FDA approving it are infinitesimally small.

Someone from outside the USA might consider it, other wise yeah, no one in their right mind would buy it. :|

Yeah, it’s kind of a sad factor of reality taking hold. I’m still struggling to accept it. I want to believe it will somehow be pushed back and pushed back and then, maybe some crafted words take affect but nothing on the side of ordering hardware really changes. I want to believe.

I was talking to a co-worker the other day about what is coming, and he said there is no way they are going to take everything off the market. I think that is what a lot of people believe.

The ostrich defense is rarely a good policy.

That really Only applies to those who Know Better.

Go into a couple of B&M's in your area. Are people sitting around talking about the FDA after being handed Pamphlets explaining Deeming and the PMTA Process?

Or go to the Vast Majority of Online Retailers. Do they have a Countdown Clock to the FDA Filing Deadline? Or sections of their Sites dedicated to Explaining what is coming? And how the Market is going to be Effected?

I Don't think the Average Vaper has their Head in the Sand. Because I Don't think that the Average Vaper has a Clue what is Going On.

To them, it is just another day. Just like all the Other days in their Vape Life.

My view is, "Better safe than sorry". I suppose there might be a couple/few who go thru the application process. But only the ones with big bucks. Anyone surprised the regs favor the ones with the big bucks?

A friend of mine scoffs whenever I bring up the subject. He simply cannot believe that an entire industry would be wiped out like this.

And it has everything to do with power. Those who have it get their way. Everyone else suffers.
