I would be inclined to agree with you. Now that I have been getting my nicotine from vaping rather than smoking for quite some time, my behavior regarding my addiction is dramatically changed. Just last night on my lunch break from work I fixed a plate, went outside to eat it, checked my phone for messages, and then started hitting my vape. That would be unheard of behavior among long time heavy smokers.
The simple fact that smokers who successfully stopped smoking by switching entirely to vaping spontaneously lower the nic strength of their juice a step at a time also backs up the assertion that vaping nicotine is the opposite of being addictive. Addiction is firmly characterized by the behavior of increasing the dosage, not by lowering it.

Since I started long ago on a cig-sized, with MTL and high nictotine I never found much difference between smoking and vaping, especially once I found that unflavored liquid was the most like smoking. The biggest difference for me was the slower absorption of nicotine. Once I was learned to wait it out first thing in the morning, I was good.

I did find out that I hit a rough patch after about six hours...and it ain't pretty.

I find I am missing the vape less as opposed to a cig on a long plane ride. I go overseas a couple of time a year and it really doesn't bother me as much as it did while smoking.
On the other hand, I still love the smell of a cig in smoking areas where I vape. But that's ok, the vape is cheap and the second hand smoke free. :)

I think the throat hit was the same for me with the nic and flavors I chose. Now I have changed from that nic level and flavor profile all together. So it had to be a gradual change in my palate and inhalation certainly changed.
Now I don't reach for the vape first thing in the morning nor right after a meal vs the analogs I just had to have. They turn my stomach now if I smell them.
I will say this, I refuse to be around smoke nor drinking since I know the demons of taking a drink and wanting to light up even if they gross me out. So I stay away from both now! :)
