Its a little too understated for my taste...
Got my Deviate [HASHTAG]#278[/HASHTAG] in today.
Little disappointed with the fit of the mod. Notice the gap at the top of the door.
Here is a little closer shot:

the door seems misaligned somehow, here is the alignment compared to the top part:
with the alignment off it leaves a rather large lip on one side of the mod:
compared to the other side:
another minor fitment issue, the top doesnt line up with one side, leaving a gap:
While the mod design does look cool aesthetically, these alignment issues drive my OCD crazy and I now feel that the mod is not worth the price I paid for it
I understand that each piece is hand worked after the casting process, so I can overlook the gaps, but that lip totally detracts from its sleek lines. I paused the video on their site in several places to see if that showcase mod had the "lip". As far as I can tell it doesn't, so getting one with proper fit seems to be based on the luck of the draw when you get one.
Hopefully I can send this one back for one with a better fit of the door.

Its a beut! but those gaps are just ridiculous, return it for sure.. OCD or not, no one should have to take crap like that. I have no OCD and would be furious if i recived something like that.

Just a quick question what atomiser and drip tip are you using there?
That's a Kayfun lite with a clear bellcap, drip tip is a black SuperCarb with AFC.
I would already be peed off if such a gap would exist on my $50 mods. On a $250 that's unbelievable.

I opened up a support ticket at Madvapes concerning this issue. I will let everyone know how they respond and if they will exchange it for different (better) one. Will post picks of the exchanged version if they agree to swap it out. If not I'm returning it for a refund.
But besides the giant gap. This is by far the sexiest mod I've ever seen.
I just LOVE H.R. Giger's designs and the Deviate reminds me so much of his works.

As much as I would love to have that mod, but seeing the quality of workmanship I'd have to pass on it. It's an impressive design, but something like that should never pass quality control.
I think his reaction is more due to the poor quality of the mod rather than the actual price. The one shown by The.Drifter in the fourth post unfortunately looks like what one would expect from a cheap Chinese knock-off. If something that looks like that makes it thru quality control one has to wonder what the internals look like. Madvapes knocked it out of the park with the design, then proceeded to drop the ball with the quality of production.
If it was my $250 I'd be extremely ...... and they would have gotten more than an earful by now.
Got mine today. Looks like these things are the victim of poor craftsmanship. Imo, the battery door is out of spec. Either their mold is garbage or the door warped during the cooling process. Either way, the thing needs work. I will be expressing my dissatisfaction to Mad Vapes here shortly.

Your door seems to fit better than mine. Are there any lips protruding along the door edge on either side?
I sent pictures to Madvapes and asked for a exchange. Will know more tomorrow after I get a response back.
Both sides stick out. That's what makes me think it warped during the cooling process. Let me know how it goes.

I just dropped them an email concerning this issue. Never had any dealings with Mad Vapes. Hopefully they will be as good as Vapor Flask and correct the problem.
