So, I've recently found out that the vendor I use apparently uses flavoring with Diacetyl in it.

Now I'm not here to make accusations. And I don't want to name the vendor. It just seems strongly suggested that this is the case, and if it's true, I'm not a happy camper.

This really stinks for two reasons. First, it was my favorite flavor. Second, the vendor is almost certainly aware by now that this is a toxic chemical to inhale when heated (though ok if consumed orally).

From what I've read, Flavor Art flavorings that apply a synthetic butter taste, often contain Diacetyl.

I'm a little ...... off, to be honest. I'd rather vape plain PG+nic than buy from a vendor that knowingly uses unsafe chemicals. I certainly feel bad about recommending them to so many people.

Is there a list anywhere of vendors that use this, or some place to find a list of vendors that use only ingredients that are not clearly proven to pose serious health risks?

Thank you,

The main Flavour Art website specifies which flavors are NOT safe to vape.

Here's something else to be aware of: if you DIY, lots of places reselling Flavour Art's stuff, do NOT specify that information, even if they're marketing it to vapers. Like ecigexpress, for example, has butter listed without the warning. Which is kind of lame. I buy from ecigexpress, but I have to use FA's site at the same time to make sure I don't accidentally buy the unsafe stuff.

I would LOVE to know which vendor it is that your talking about.. Any way you can PM me? I won't share.. But I noticed my FAVORITE vendor is not on that list and has my favorite juice..

Thanks.

edit: I looked through some of your previous posts and I think i figured out who and what juice your talking about.. I don't use them thankfully.

That list isn't up-to-date. KBV has stated they don't use it.

Thank you for the responses.

I'm glad to see that a lot of the vendor's don't use it.

The vendor I was using isn't on that list, and won't be receiving my purchases in the future, and I won't continue recommending them to new vapers.

Whether or not alternatives are safer is anybody's guess, but using something that is known to be unsafe is just the type of thing that is going to cause problems for the whole vaping community. It's no better than what PM, or RJR, were doing to us before we made the switch.

i would just email them. the list is not an updated list, so who knows

There's no need for me to email them. They've openly admitted that they use it, and aren't worried about the safety of it. That is directly from the owner, in their vendor forum here at ECF.

I see a lot of popular alternatives in that list. I'm sure I'll find a great juice from one of them.

Then why not do all of us vapors a favor and just tell us who it is. In the time it takes to read through the forums.....sheesh.

I'm not on a witch hunt, nor am I qualified to start regulating who picks what they use as ingredients. For all we know, the small amount that is in the recipe would be mostly harmless. But on the other hand, I won't be vaping their juices anymore.

I will, however, send you a PM with the answer.

The company openly admits the use, and isn't concerned with the safety of the product. You wouldn't really be starting a witchhunt if they don't have any problem using it. You would just be sharing open knowledge to fellow vapers who could then derive their own opinions of whether or not they will use the vendor. Isn't that what these forums are for? Sharing knowledge.

You make a good case, but I'm sure there is more then one vendor that uses it, which is why I don't want to name and shame one specifically.
