Okay, so I was diagnosed the other day with PAD. I'm sure my 30+ years of smoking and eating terrible was the total contributor. But now my question is, is contiuing to vape nicotine going to hender my recovery efforts of an improved diet and some exercise?
Everything I've read says STOP tobacco USE, not specifically nicotine. I love vaping and I have been tobacco free going on 9 months now.
Has anyone read or know anything about this subject?

Thanks in advance for any contributions.......

I don't know for sure if switching will make a difference with PAD, but I can give you my anecdotal evidence. I haven't been diagnosed with PAD, but I have had a problem for years with my legs and feet falling asleep a lot. I'm very short and my feet dangle off the floor in most chairs so I tend to sit cross legged in most chairs and used to have my feet and legs fall asleep multiple times a day. Since I switched to vaping, it only happens every few days, maybe only once or twice a week instead of 4-5 times a day. I really think it's because circulation has improved since I switched, because I haven't changed anything else.

Well here are my thoughts. I never have eaten healthy...... I was somewhat active before the last year. What happen to me was I was sent to work in an in-office environment (which I have not been in for years) for almost a year straight. So I sat all day long at computers with little activity. All of a sudden I start having issues while walking, calf muscles start cramping to the point I have to STOP. Then it would be okay for a bit.
I knew something was up, so the doctors ordered the tests. So I think a solid year of inactivity, (plus the years of smoking and bad diet) just caught up with me. I truely don't want to attribute it to vaping at all. I really don't think we get near the amount of nicotine vaping as we did from smoking anyway. IMHO.

I have been smoke free for 3 mos. & right now have a baaaad cold but am curious to see if hopefully it won't turn into bronchitis like it usually does. my feet & mostly right had have been going to sleep alot & my doctor said it was corpul tunnel but I'm not so sure now. when I 1st get up after sitting a little while my legs & feet hurt & it is hard to walk till I get going. I just attributed it to age & all the extra weight I have on me but maybe not. It's hard to tell the doctors anything because they always blame everything on weight, smoking, or diet. It's almost like I don't want to even say anything to him. He is glad I quit smoking though.

This is the first winter since I was in high school that every cold I got didn't turn into bronchitis and I really think it's because of the antimicrobial effects of PG. They use vaporized PG in hospitals to kill viruses on surfaces and I believe it does the same thing in our lungs. I haven't changed anything else, my kids and hubby still bring me home every bug they pick up from school, work and friends, but this has been my healthiest winter in 24 years. Hope you feel better soon!

Moonflame I hope so. I've been in this bed for 2 days but I am finally feeling better I guess thats why I'm up @ 2:30 am or it could be I am using 1 of those inhalers which makes me jittery but I am doing all I can to try & keep it from staying in my chest. You know what I mean. I will be so overly happy if I keep getting better about this time I would probably smoke because I thought I was over it & then get sicker. You know how miserable bronchitis is for like several months. I do not want that anymore that is 1 of the main reasons I switched to vaping along w/emphazema (SW) & cancer & kids & society you get the picture. I didn't know that about the pg good to know.

Uh, I have bronchitis. I did everything to try not to get it but it didn't work. I am very upset as that was 1 of the main reasons I quit reg. cigs. It has only been 3 mos. & it doesn't seem quite as bad as in the past so I'm gonna be optimstic. Hey & now I don't have to hear people say when I'm sick "Well if you'd stop smoking" because it did not cause it.

Hope you start feeling better soon lulubell! I had bronchitis when I first got my e-cig and I think it helped me kick it faster than I usually did. I started in June last year so I had a good long time of vaping instead of smoking before the little one started bringing home germs from this school year. At least vaping is easier to do when you're sick too. I still smoked no matter how sick I was and no matter how much it hurt, even the time I had pneumonia. I'm sure that made it take longer to get better, but I couldn't help myself. It's nice to not have to deal with that any more :).

I am exactly the same way. I've smoked w/Bronc. Penumonia. Smoked no matter how bad I felt. It is not near as bad as in the past getting better already so I'll count myself lucky. I seem to get sick often from kids also anything they get I get the germs just love me. & wouldn't it be cool if there was some kind of tasteless & side effect free liquid medicine we could add to juice & vape that way instead of in 1 of those inhalers.

Let me give you a real experience since changing to e-cigs. I used to get sinus infections 4-6 times per year. EVERY FREAKIN YEAR. Since switching to e-cigs over 9 months ago, I have not had one infection needing antibiotics. Hooray for my e-cigs......
I had another round of tests ran today and will find out next week how bad the blockage is. The tech says she didnt think it was a real severe case. That is good news, may a little diet change along with exercise will help.
My doctor too supports my change to the e-cig.

Hey I'm from La moved here 2 1/2 yrs. ago from Ascension Parish originally from BR. What parts you from? Anyway I'm glad for you that you never had sinus problems again & that the pad may not be so bad. I am sick right now & had to get the inhaler rx so I can breath. I'm hoping I just haven't been smoke free long enough & maybe it will improve. I also have had 2 diff. drs. over the years say I may have asthma but why do I only get this after a really bad cold? I don't know time will tell.

Nhaler, one of the suppliers here, has an e-juice called Lung Juice which is made with herbs known to be beneficial for the lungs. I have the Pear. It is really delightful and have found it to be helpful. Might want to check it out.

I first purchased the Lung Juice because it was said to have a relaxing affect. When I first started vaping I had trouble stopping when it was bed time... the ritual had changed from smoking a ciggie, putting it out and going to bed. Well, there was no "putting it out", LOL and just kept on vaping! The Lung Juice is indeed relaxing, and have also found it to be of real benefit when having bronchial/asthma related symptoms.

Read up on it because it is recommended to be used on an occassional basis rather than all the time.

Thank You that is very very helpful. I have heard good things about Nhaler anyway so I will for sure try some. I was hoping there was some type of liquid breathing agent to add to the juice to help like whats in the broncial inhalers. I'm sure it's not exactly the same as an rx but if the lung juice helps even a little it will be worth it.
