I've seen YT videos where they use a 5/64" (0.078125") drill bit. But, I just got through building a coil jig and looking around for something to use for a post, I found that a 6D finish nail measures .078" on my digital caliper so, I used that.
try a 5/64 or 1/8" bit or screw with that sizing to coil 30 to 32g kanthal___ set it in place w/a 20 gauge needle so you can set it down into the coil chamber low enough so you dont short it on the post and hold it here while securing the grommet and button.
check with ohm meter after building..
build a few to learn, so you can achieve your required ohms for your PV.
I run 32g 6turns around a 1/16 drill bit then thread 3 strands of peaches and cream yarn through the coil. Then I lay 2strands of yarn over the coil and toke up. Works pretty good and cheap.
