DID to Provari

Does anyone have any good intel on the DID?

1. Will it work with the Provari?
2. Will it damage a Provari or LavaTube?
3. Vaperite has a DID type atty for one fourth the price, any thoughts? The site has in big red letters it will damage sensitive electronics. What is this about.

2 It shouldnt.
3 when rebuilding/rewiring an rba device we must take care that there are no shorts or the ohm load is too low, most cheapo batts will pop the safety or quit working if exposed to a short in the coil or too low of a load. the PV has a built in ohm load checker and short protection.

it's always good to check with a multimeter after rebuilding one.

The DID with the Provari is my favorite setup. What I love about it is that the Provari makes sure that the coil and wick are constructed correctly.

The difference between the DiD and the Chinese clone is craftsmanship and materials. The DID is Stainless Steel. The clone is chrome plated brass.

I use a Did on a P-mini. I LOVE it!!! They say the Did is a little finicky on a provari. I use 28 kanthal. Best wishes.

Also, with the real DID, the air hole lines up perfectly with the wick/coil. With the clones, the chances are, well, 1 to 360...

do you test the ohms before it goes on the PV?

I dont. The worst that happens is i get an e1. After you make a few coils,you learn how many wraps to make to get what you want, or you can use another size wire.

I had a couple of VV mods once, but traded them for manual ones. I use my DIDs on an Omega, a Silver Bullet and a Hex. Never had any problems not knowing how many ohms.

I've got the DID on my Provari right now, it's awesome. If you get a good set up on it you really couldnt ask for any better.

Yes!!! the ss wick is well, wicked good! Only problem is I can't go back to anything. Some say it will leak if on its side? Mine does not-I use all vg juice.

Not for nothing I really enjoy the DID on a Zmax with LR coil wraps about 1.4 omhs with on about 5.0 watts of power...this setup is for the heavy hitters that like the throat hit to Rock'em knock'em.....lol

I will soon put it on a pro-v and compare the affects of the vape! I've been debating about the pro-v or mechanical mod w/ kick....which setup is best?

Ok I have tried my DiD on on pro-v at 4.5 to 4.8 omhs and on mechanical mod...I must say I like the pro-v best for its constant flow of power even as the battery dies. So I say that the DiD works well on the pro~v as long as you get the coil wrapping correct to avoid error readings.....

The only downside to a pro-v and the DID is not being able to wrap low ohm coils. I prefer less than 1ohm coils using 28g kanthal on genesis attys ya can't do that without errors on a pro-v.

Really? Last I heard the trials were just ok. One person said that the ceramic wicks don't wick as well. At 9 watts they could keep it wet enough but vapor production wasn't near as good as SS mesh, but when cranked up to 12 watts vapor production was great but it didn't wick fast enough. It's still too early to tell though. It's crazy to think of how far vaping has come since I started a little over 2 yrs. ago. and there are many who have vaped much longer. When I started VV was the new fad. Since then it's moved into carto tanks being all the rage. Now it's gennys. Makes ya wonder where we will be in another 5 yrs.

It is not the same. Yes you can get the same or even more heat from a pro-v adjusting the volts, but wrapping a low ohm coil isn't just about getting more heat. You can wrap a 2 ohm coil with 28 g kanthal (need a 9/8 wrap lol) or you can do it with 32g kanthal, but it is FAR from the same experience. It is about heat of course but a common factor that is regularly missed with 28g kanthal it is also about surface area. 28 gauge kanthal is obviously a thicker diameter, meaning that more of the wick is in contact with the wire. With a pro-v I don't care how much voltage you add to it you won't be able to reach 15-20 ohm. With a mech mod and the right batts I can push 30+ if I wanted. (not that it would be enjoyable at all) the pro-v is great for most situations but my Poldiac stomps it when it comes to performance. Never though my vv provari would ever be a back up mod to a mech mod but here we are full circle.
