I quit smoking 1 yr. and 9 months ago after over 40 yrs. of tobacco. (holy cow, huh?) I couldn't have done it without e-cigs. I am still learning, and learning, etc.. I am currently working on lowering my nicotine to .06. But I sure like a throat hit. The best e-liquid I have found so far is zikwid, but their lowest nic levels are 1.2. We'll see how this goes.

I didn't pick up smoking until later in life; I was almost 35 years old. Due to stress in my life, a friend handed me a cigarette, suggesting it might help calm me down.

That was 7 years ago, and in that time, I have tried to quit 3 different times. The first time was relatively successful - I had used the patch, though not correctly (one week 21 MGs, one week 14 MGs, one week 7 MGs), and was smoke free for just over nine months.

And then I turned 40, freaked out (some kind of mid-life panic attack) and started back up again. For the next 2 years, I tried twice more to stop - once again I tried the patches, but they didn't work that time, so I asked my doctor and she prescribed Wellbutrin. It seemed like it was starting to work - I was off cigarettes for about 3 weeks - but then stress had me reaching for them again.

In June of this year, I had started hearing more and more about electronic cigarettes. I mentioned it to my caregiver, and being a smoker himself, he was interested as well. On June 15th, he texted me a picture of a cig-a-like system his friend was selling, asking if I wanted to give it a try. Within 10 minutes of trying it, I knew this was the right direction for me. It not only gave the nicotine to avoid the nic fits, but gave me the motion that was just as much an addiction as the nicotine.

Later that day, on June 15th, when the battery died and I had to wait for it to recharge, I had one cigarette from the pack I still had that was about half full. On June 16th, I bought a second battery so that I had a backup for when one was charging. Later that day, on June 16th, I gave my caregiver the rest of my pack of cigarettes.

A couple days ago, I upgraded from the cig-a-like system to an 'alien device' (as my son calls them).

Since June 15th, I have only had the one cigarette; otherwise, I've been completely smoke free. My caregiver smokes around me, my dad does... I have no desire to pick it back up.

So, as of today, I have been smoke free for 3 months! Mini-wave in celebration! :D

I was a 40 year smoker and tried everything out there to quit. A coworker who had also been a long time smoker introduced me to vaping. He was no longer smoking cigarettes and really seemed to enjoy vaping. He sent me all the links where he bought his stuff and I decided to give it a try. I got my first kit and wasn't sure it was going to work as I was still smoking and vaping. After a week I ran out of cigarettes and decided not to buy anymore. I have not looked back since. I am still amazed at how easy it was to switch to vaping. I am gradually decreasing the nicotine with the goal of getting to zero nicotine.

Yes! And it's about time :) Over the years I've spent so much money trying to quit. As much as $500 in one Doctor's visit. (and that only lasted one day) Plus all the times I bought patches, gums, acupuncture and even a hypnotist! Nothing worked. I tried a cigalike (mall kit) back in 2008 and thought it was great. Well as least the concept was great. But the kit itself was trash. Then in 2010 I tried another ecig. this time it was mail order, it turned out to be the same junk I bought in the mall in 08. I thought the technology would of gotten a little better. but hey, I thought I'd give it one more try in 2013. I ended up with a handful of Ego's and some clearomizers. I liked it :) they helped me cut down on analogs a lot more then I thought they would. then I found this place and started making my own juice then buying better heads then mods. Now I've been 100% smoke free for about a week and my attitude is in check and no one around me got hurt :)

Yes I did quit , I was one of those who enjoyed smoking and never even considered quitting. I suppose I should say I switched, from smoking to vaping. After trying a disposable e-cig after being prompted by a coworker I saw the possibilities, except for the battery life and lack of vapor.... But after some research I ran into a eGo clone starter kit at my local smoke shop when I was buying my normal carton of smokes. I went back a few days later and bought it, then a few days more an extra kit because I needed more battery time. So I quit smoking on 4/20/13 and still have 4 unopened packs of analogs ...
My smoke shop misses my $350 /month. And some vapor stores locally and-line have benefited from my financial support.

I stopped smoking analogs on July 27,2013 at 9:15pm.After 30 years and 2 packs a day.I was still smoking after I started vaping and was going to give up on vaping,as I didn't see any point in the extra expense. Then a local vape shop owner told me you just have to commit to not smoking anymore and thats what I did,and it worked.I am determined not to go back to smoking!
