Die Hard with a Vengence

Last night, for the upteenth time, we watched Die Hard with a Vengence. But, this time I noticed something "different". As Katya (Sam Phillips) walks in with her bolt cutters, the cigarette dangling from her lips isn't lit. As she cuts the chain, the cigarette end lights up red, in a perfect e-Cig type of way and without smoke.

I can't confirm this, because I can't seem to google good enough. Does anybody have any confirmation?

I know that the main bad character, Simon Guber played by Jeremy Irons, fought the NY smoking bans with contempt, but that's as far as my research takes me.

I thought it pretty cool, as the movie was made in 1995.

this kinda stuff happens all the time in movies. it's simply a mistake from the director. just like so many movies where they are drinking a glass of water, camera moves away, goes back, the glass is more full than it was in the previous shot. than 2 shots later it's empty. another shot it's full again. directors have so much on their plate that it just goes over their head. the cigarette is out one shot, lit another, another shot the cigarette is almost completely smoked, the next shot it's a full lite cigarette again. the biggest and funniest mess up in directing i noticed even at age 7 is the movie LIAR LIAR with Jim Carrey. it's the scene when his exwife is driving with his son. shes talking to her son and she's wearing a seatbelt, than the camera moves to her son than back to her and the seatbelts off, than camera back to her son and back to her again and the seatbelt is back on. this goes back and forth for like 7 shots.
