I don't quite understand how the electronics in the ProVari are outdated. Doesn't a ProVari offer the most consistent power delivery of any pv on the market- not just anecdotal, but proven?

I think the question to ask would be whether one would trade their Vamo for a ProVari, or whether a ProVari owner would trade theirs for a Vamo. Pretty sure the latter wouldn't, even if given $ for the difference in price.

Money is tight. I had a "strict" $50 limit on e-cig stuff. In that respect the provari wasn't even on the table for consideration. I just ordered a vamo v2 with 2 18650 batteries, a charger, an rda, wick and wire for $51 and change. I haven't gotten it yet (it's decomposing in hong kong) so maybe I'll be disappointed with it but there's no other option that I know of for my price limit.

You won't be disappointed. For the first few weeks, you'll think all the fuss is about nothing. I wish my Vamo stayed "like new"... I may have never bought a ProVari. The Vamo is basically taped together at this point, though....and my old ProVari is still like new! MadVapes has an air regulator adapter for about 5 bucks... it's 510 to 510 and has a nice flat top on it. You should buy one and screw it to the top of your Vamo so you can save it's threads. Threads go quick on those things. Vamos's are more fun than ProVari's are...you can sneak up on people in the woods and Vape then watch them run like hell screaming "SNAAAAKKKEEEEE!!!!" Enjoy your Vamo. Start a ProVari fund...put 2 bucks a day in a jar, along with any loose change, $5 everytime you piss off the spouse, $3 everytime you put off something you should've done, $1 everytime you spill juice on your lap...You'll have a ProVari before you know it!

You guys just had to do it didn't you? You responded to all of my questions with reasonable, sincere (well mostly sincere lol) answers. I can no longer hold out against the insurmountable forces rallied against me. You broke me down. I'm getting my mind right, as Cool Hand Luke said.

Therefore, let it be known. I've just placed an order for a Provari V2.5 in Metallic Bronze finish. With the 18650 extension cap in matching color. With a green display. With both AW IMR 18650 and AW IMR 18490 batteries. For a grand total of $238.85! Heaven help me I've gone plumb loco.

Soon I'll be able to make my own comparisons between my cheap Chinese clones and what I'm convinced (by all of you) will be an awesome APV. I'm pretty ... excited! Thanks everyone for sharing your enthusiasm for your beloved Provari with me. I hope I love it as much as you do! I'm gonna be part of the club baby!

best regards, larry mac

Congratuations, Larry. :toast:

I'll be looking forward to your opinion and comments when you've had a chance to hold a Provari and use it.

Provape was interviewed just over a year ago about the Provari at Spinfuel. You might find this to be an interesting read.

Enjoy your Provari! I just got mine and it's very nice. Good, solid build. I haven't used it enough to give a good comparison to my Vamo V2s or V3s, but the Provari should last you a good, long time. Compared to my Vamo V3s, I wasn't really blown away by it, but I like that I don't have to worry about it's threads, even though I've had no issues with the threads on any of my Vamos. I should mention that when I screwed one of my Smok Pyrex DCTs on the Provari I got no airflow, but haven't tried the other two yet. My Boge F16s work perfectly on it. Right now I'm too in love with Reos to really give the Provari a workout. ;)

So I finally got my vamo in the mail today and I have to say these are the worst threads in the history of screwing things. My first impression was that they were not 510 threads. I tried a few different attys and finally concluded that they do kinda screw on it but good lord! The problem is that the vamo's threads are tapped out too large and then the atty bottoms out when it's just started to grab. VERY precarious. I wouldn't want to put it in my pocket or backpack with the atty attached for fear it would get ripped off and strip the one thread that's grabbing.

Other than that it seems to work fine.

This is a vamo v2 chromed brass. I ordered a SS v3 for my sister-in-law. When I see it I'll compare the threads with mine and post any differences.

Quality control must really suck for Vamos, and I must be very lucky. Sorry your threads are crap. :(

~ You don't want a red LED display that went out of style in the 80's and that nobody is going to want, that'll be extra.

~ You want an extension cap so you can use the most popular and widespread batteries for mods, that'll be extra.

~ You want anything but the oldest and plainest finish, that'll be extra.

It's called getting nickel and dimed, and it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. c

I pray you look at it the other way,,,,,,,,

why should someone who wants the minimum be required to pay for all the extras?????? they could offer the green LED for the same price as the red LED,,,,,,,but that would require having those who want the cheaper LED pay a higher price to cover it,,,,,

I'd rather have the option to save that 20 bucks and spend it on something else (like the extention cap, which I DO want)
