When I first started vaping, I bought a ProTank at a local B&M. Here I am a couple of months later on vacation where I found another B&M. I needed a replacement base for my original pro tank, and saw they had the old pro tanks on sale to make room for the PT2. So...since they were on sale, I bought one. I like them better than the mini's anyway.

What I noticed about this PT is that the "innards" look a little different than the first one I bought. Did they make changes to the original ProTanks after they were released and I just happened to own 2 original protanks that look different on the inside? On the one I just bought on clearance there seems to be an extra piece of metal at the base of the tube inside of the tank. Seems to be working just fine. Just wondering about this.

That with the extra metal is version two of ProTank 1, with o-rings instead of epoxy sealing the glass to the metal.

I just received the version 2 of the Protank I today ... with purple tinted pyrex (yeah baby) ... Anyway, the difference in the version 2 base is very noticeable in terms of appearance however, I have yet to vape on it, so I don't know if version 2 is better or worse than version 1 yet.

IMO, it's a good thing. I can add I think the draw on mine is anything but loose. In fact, I think it's tighter than my RBAs, which folks complain about and drill out. I'm happy with all of them.

I think it's a good thing, too. I notice that when the liquid gets low it doesn't start acting up like my other one does. :)
