When I started reading this thread I really thought maybe you can vape diketone free flavored ejuice. I now see I was wrong because the substitute of diketones are worse health wise. Now in order to vape safely I need to not only avoid diketone ejuice I have to avoid anything which has a taste to it. Tasteless ejuice is just what I can't wait to enjoy.

Jman, you said smokers have been inhaling diketones with no signs of diketone specific lung damage. Jman, smokers get COPD. That is an obstructive lung disease, coincidentally that's what happens to people exposed to diketones. Whether its from a factory, a cigarette, a bag of popcorn, or perhaps even a sub ohm tank, diketones are causing damage to people's lungs. You now there is evidence of this and good reason to be concerned, but you are trying to make me run in circles and go crazy all over the web looking for rock solid "PROOF" that vaping will give you popcorn lung.
I'm not playing forum games with you. I am doing my part to warn people about diketones and to advocate safer juices.

Not all smokers get COPD and plenty of smokers obtain either full recovery or near full recovery from decades of smoking. So, really I think you are concerned with the irreversible kind of damage, otherwise your fear is unfounded.

The people in factories aren't being propped up because they may have gotten COPD. You know this, but are moving goal posts to say "any damage to lungs." If that is what you want to go with, then let that be your own personal standard. I don't see how a vaper thinks that politically we will be able to vape (even unflavored) with idea that there is reasonable concern for damage to lungs. Would be like someone saying, I will never drink hard liquor again, and will instead imbibe beer (daily) because I'm concerned what hard liquor does to my body. As a personal choice, who's to argue with that? But as a choice everyone else ought to consider, that deserves to be scrutinized with the likely winning hand being with those who say "avoid both, if you are truly concerned about your health."

    ...

I am curious why a person who vapes flavorless would vocally advocate for vendors to provide disclosure / lab results for flavored eLiquid that they sell? ...

I think that Falls under the making an Informed Choice.

I really don't give a Rats Azz if someone here wants to Vape e-Liquids that are High in Da or AP. Or Both.

But if a persons hears about Da or AP, or maybe even Reads a Thread like this, I would like them to be Able to go to where they Buy their e-Liquids and see if the e-liquids they are Inhaling contain Da and or AP.

From there, what they want to do is kinda their Business.

Just like OEM's can put Whatever they want into an e-Liquid. At Any Level they want. Vaper's can buy and Inhale whatever they Want.

What percentage of Flavoring are you Using right Now? On Average?

This is true. Some eat fast foods and drink soda every day and vape diacetyl and wonder why their body is breaking down and will face an early grave...

And yet, all will go to the grave. Some are looking for their greatest leisurely time when they are in their 70's. More power to them, but not all of us think living a long life on earth is all that it is cracked up to be, nor that it is best done by living a rather boring life before age 70.

Btw, my previous comment had literally zero to do with anything that is perceived as outside of yourself. Perhaps it is most people don't understand how health actually works... (though I like to think everyone knows, and pretends otherwise)

I understand your concern with that and its very valid. So far I've done nothing but bash diketones, but I have also said that this is an evolutionary process to make vaping as safe as it can be. Right now the low hanging fruit is diketones, and more and more people are seeing the truth of that. I'm just doing my tiny little part to give it a push in the right direction and if making a thread is the best I can do, then that's the best I can do. At least I'm doing it.
Here's the bottom line really. Where there is a will, there is a way. And where there is billions of dollars, you can certainly bet that there will be a way to make a good tasting juice without dangerous chemicals in it like diketones and whatever else that stuff you are talking about happens to be. If that's dangerous, it will get more and more exposure until people don't accept it anymore, and it will get fixed too.
Until flavored liquids arrive at something like an ideal risk profile, you'd be well advised to no longer vape diketones.

Also, I have failed to take into account the physical condition of some of the diketone deniers. If I was kind of old and my body was already wrecked, then I might just say "screw it" as well and vape a bucket of diketones. Just saying. Im only 36 and in pretty good shape, so I don't want to go getting all diketoned out before my 40th birthday for crying out loud.

I think that Falls under the making an Informed Choice.

So then why not favor the FDA deeming that seeks to make sure consumers are as informed about all facets as humanly possible? Or do think that through your advocacy efforts that all vendors will fall in line and match your version of disclosure prior to FDA becoming final rule?

Please Post where you are getting your Specific Information about FDA Deeming.

Retailers will do what they think will make them the Largest Profit.

If that means Loading up their e-Liquids with Da and AP, then they will. If that means Being More Transparent and Publishing Test Results, then that is what they will do.

In a Free Market, Profits Drives Policy.

*Fixed for best accuracy and for those who say they truly care about their health (from the perspective of fear mongering).

That's not a fix. We already know vaping is safer than smoking, at least generally speaking. If the choice is between the two, then vaping is much better. However, if vaping 20mils of juice that contains 2000ppm of AP per day is your idea of a safer alternative, then you may well be mistaken, quite gravely in fact.

The chemical I was refering to is Butyrate ethy, which is what I believe a substitute for DA/AP. You may be vaping it right now and don't know it. It's worse than diketones.

FDA.gov - though pretty sure you knew this. Here is link that speaks to ingredients in products. This is the short version. I know you know the multi-paragraph / page version exists in the deeming proposal.

What are the 8 Hour Exposure guidelines for Butyrate Ethy in ppm?
