Diluting 100% VG with distilled water

One of my local vape shops has a MAX VG line with 4 different flavors that has some amazing aromas off a dripper mod. To prevent malingering drippers from coming in and load up on a sample adn leaving without purchasing anything they started putting the MAX VG sample in a Kanger T3D tank. The drippers said they tried the samples through the T3D and it lost a lot of flavor and putting 100% VG in a tank will clog it up.

I've read that you can dilute thick viscosity juice with distilled water. My question is can this be done without it damaging your coils / tank and retain it's full flavor??

VG does not gunk coils (it evaporates completely, as PG does).
VG decrease ability of wicks to deliver adequate amount of juice to coil (too viscous).
Experienced people on DIY forum tell us that up to 10-15% of distilled water make pure VG good enough for vaping.
I have tried 7% of water with 10% of PG and it worked fine.
