Good point. thanks for clearing that up. I have a TI PTR08100W. This is the one used in the evercool mod. Will this be enough. I want to be able to run dual coil LR cartos at 5.5 to 6 volts at the maximum. thanks

The TI PTR08100W (5.5V Max) is not rated for 6 Volt use. The OKR-T/3 (3 Amp), OKR-T/6 (6 Amp), or OKR-T/10 (10 Amp) would be a better choice (6V Max).

How many amps is the 8100W rated for? Even at 5V's the DC carto will pull over 3 amps.
The OKR-t/6 rated at 6 amps will prolly be a safer bet for DC cartos.
There is a thread on here where somebody asked about DC friendly regulators.

The PTR08100 is rated for 10 Amps, similar to the OKR-T/10, but is only rated for 5.5V max.

You want the 25W version here. Nice part. Though it's still only 3A, but probably enough even for the dual coil cartomizers. The OKR-T is more compact, but not quite as simple to use since you need to add a potentiometer.

Yeah, that looks like that the mack daddy. I wish they sampled those out, lol. I have a TI PTR08100W on the way. I might just build the evercool voltage mod. It's cheap. I don't have all of the parts now or an enclosure but I have my eye on a couple. I'm just researching at the moment. thanks for all the input guys
