For any of you UK vapers, there's currently a discussion about Electric Cigarettes on TalkSPORT radio that is making me slightly frustrated. The guy presenting it has no idea about these E-Cigs and the callers are even worse. By the sounds of it the presenter tried one someone offered to him outside a store and he found it "weird" so he has had his agenda that these are ridiculous inventions and has been peddling this idea throughout the whole show.
I sent a long email explaining that the one he tried was probably an old and, quite frankly, not a very good model and that he should try a newer model which doesn't imitate the looks of a real cigarette to then make a proper judgement on them. I also mentioned that e-liquids exist and it doesn't have to be the generic tobacco flavour he tried. I doubt the email will get read out though..
Someone just rang up saying he doesn't like them, and when asked whether he had tried it, the caller said "no and I don't want to." I know I shouldn't get annoyed by this but it's just a shame that not many people know anything about these things, and people "write off" E-Cigs because the one they tried was a crappy disposable one.
The owner (I think), of E-Lites.co.uk came on and he seems like a decent fella, but unfortunately he did a lot to perpetuate this myth that electric cigarettes are one thing, and that is a generic fake cigarette with a generic flavour and model. I understand that this is the type of cigarette that they sell, but it's just a bit of a shame that the "bigger" models weren't mentioned and the fact that you can actually change flavours and use e-liquids.
