Smokingclams thread about 1000 cigarettes avoided made me think of doing this.
I've had this large metal barrel that I used to use as an ashtray when I smoked in the back yard. It saved me from constantly having to empty a regular ash tray. I would just throw them in the barrel. I did this for 5 years and never emptied it. Sometimes it would start a fire in there and burn everything and the cig's didn't pile up as much so it was mostly burnt butts and ashes about 1/3 full. Then when it rained it turned the whole mess into mud. So I went out there today and poured it out on to a trash bag and this is what it looks like. This is 5 years worth of only the ones I smoked in my yard. So add another 30 years to this plus all the ones I smoked in the car, at the bar, at work and everywhere else and...well there it is. Disgusting!
