Disturbing reaction to juice

I made up some Sweet Tangerine juice for my vaping buddy here at work, he likes 4 mg. Used all my new WL nic/pg/vg and the Capella Sweet Tangerine flavor at 15%. Used brand new syringes and bottle, nothing recycled. Gave him a 5 ml sample this morning, he uncapped it and took a sniff.

"Smells like tobacco."

What???

I guess that harsh WL nic strikes again.

I'll save it for my tobacco mixes and use the RTS for lighter flavors I guess.

4mg/ml seems pretty small compared to everything else in the mix to be so much in the forefront...

I'm vaping the rest that would not fit in the 5 ml bottle. Approx 2 ml was left, I made up 8 to start with. Those bottles hold a little more than listed.

It tastes like Tangerine mixed with tobacco. I can't trust my buds, I'm still a smoker so things smell and taste different to me.

He's buying bulk juice from VapingZone and using the same heads on a T3 for months at a time, states "I can't really taste it anymore anyway" so I thought I'd change it up for him. . .

One syringe for flavor, one syringe for nic, one syringe for pg, one syringe for vg.

Mixed all in a glass graduated cylinder, freshly sterilized.

Poured from graduated cylinder into brand new plastic bottle.

I think I need to take my own advice and vape my pg/vg mix with no flavor or nic and see what it tastes like. Then add nic and try again.

I tasted the pg/vg on my finger and got oily sweetness, no chemical smell. The nic does have a chemical smell but that's to be expected.

Maybe the Syringe had some leftover Tobacco flavor when you mixed the Tangerine.

That could happen, I do re-use them after a good wash. However, I had just opened these (stocked up in my last order from WL).

Could be just this dude's nose, rendering my pride obsolete. Then I was prejudiced against my flavor.

Could be leftover lingering tobacco flavor from my Evod head that I'm tasting, or it could be all in my mind!

Anyway, I have a plan for tonight. I'll be vaping the unflavored before I blame the nic. . .

That is disturbing. There was a similure post in the thread just above yours claming the samething. I just stocked up with a 500mil purchase of NIC from WL that went right into the freezer as a reserve. Now I guess I'll have to open it and sample it and see if it's harsh or has a tobacco taste as others have complained.

I agree. I love RTS nic and the fact that it does not interfere with the flavor of my mixes. I also love not having to use heavy flavors to cover up the stronger nic tastes and odors

One more thing did you let the Capella Sweet Tangerine steep with the cap off overnight it has alcohol in it, but that would have nothing to do with Tobacco Flavor

Whoops, didn't see that last post. No, no cap off steeping and duh! I should have held onto it for a few days before delivery.

And, I have failed, I have not opened the diy cabinet and dragged out base to vape. Tomorrow, promise!

Vaped flavorless tonight! Wow, vg is like vaping maple syrup, I had no idea it was that potent by itself.

The pg is slightly less sweet, but the th killed me.

I'm getting ready to mix up some with nic at 18 mg and I'll report that back as well. The nic from RTS is golden colored in the bottle but has no discernable hue in the glass graduated cylinder. Same scent as the nic from WL, though.

*edit: also tasting burnt pg at 4.0w on a 2.2 ohm atty. Yummy!

*one more edit: the nic kills the sweetness of the base, and it doesn't taste harsh, yay!

Guess my tobacco tangerine will remain a mystery!

I've never tasted a really discernible taste to WL nicotine, any kind. I use their ICE primarily and it has NO taste, IMO.

The coveted ice!! Need to get my hands on some. It didn't really have a taste, per se, just a harsh-ness. Still can't track down why my tangerine smelled like tobacco, and guess I won't. I don't make to share anyway, so if it tastes good to me that's all that matters!

What about the bottle you housed the liquid in? I know after a good rinse with scolding hot water, even my glass bottles retain some of the previous juice smell.
