Hello all,
I'm new to the forum(have been lurking for about a month) and just wanted to say hi! I haven't had an analog in about a week, surviving on crummy 7-11 specials. I was a 1-1.5 PAD guy, and am amazed that this is doing the trick(though this brand isn't particularly great, it's done the trick for now). This brings me to the following point: I just ordered a manual kit from V4L, having been sold entirely because of my lurking on here(I don't think I'm at the point of really appreciating the eGo or other types of e-cigs that aren't as similar to analogs yet).
So with that said, Thanks!
-Dave

Wow, I can't believe how quickly this got a reply! Yeah, totally amazed that I haven't needed an analog yet. The first couple of days were rough, but after that it's been relatively smooth sailing. My girlfriend smokes still, but fortunately I had about a week of vaping under my belt before seeing her again(I'm back at Rider University and she's at home, so there's some distance). To be honest, I wasn't expecting to quit smoking! I got pretty sick, basically bronchitis, and had bought some chloraseptic spray(which is a numbing spray) to be able to continue smoking analogs while horrendously ill. I realized that my life as a pack a day smoker had to stop, I couldn't be apathetic about it when numbing my throat to be able to continue smoking while terribly sick, only making me more sick. Just crazy.

Yeah it's pretty unbelievable, had no idea what my morning cup of coffee actually tasted like until I quit analogs! Also, when my girlfriend came to my place the other day, she had a cig out on the porch so I joined her. The smell was so much different! It's crazy having my sense of taste and smell back. Had no idea what I was missing.

Also, I've got a question:
What's the deal with drip tips? I've done a bit of research but I'd love more info. I take it they're used to increase vapor? I guess I don't have a firm grasp on it, but out of curiosity I ordered one with my kit(since they're pretty cheap).
Oh and thank you all for being so welcoming! This seems to be a great community of good hearted people(rare on the internet).

Ohhhh! Thanks for clarifying, that totally makes sense now. Appreciate it! So out of curiosity I wanted to ask, do others feel the same... well... awkwardness about walking around basically puffing on a battery? I feel great about quitting analogs, and I've already experienced some benefits(most notably/amusingly one of my professors allowed me to vape in class after I finished an exam since he was proud that I quit!).

Well done Dave. You're well on the way to beating the smoking ting.

It is unbelievable how apparently easy it is when you quit with an e cig.

You and the thousands of other people that are finding there way to e cigs are all giving yourselves the best chance of beating the killer smokes.

I wont wish you good luck. Cos luck has nothing to do with it.

I wish you every success.

With an e cig for company this is a battle you can now win.

Congratulations! I know what you mean about being sick and inventing a way to still smoke, I had dental surgery 18 mos. ago, and am ashamed at the crazy things I did.

Hopefully your girlfriend will join you soon. I can sit next to someone smoking and don't want a cigarette, which I never thought would happen.

I use a drip tip for refilling a cartomizer too, but, and I'm sure many have answered this by now, some people drip directly on an atomizer and don't use cartridges or cartomizers.

Yeah, it'd be nice if she converted with me. Just yesterday we were watching some tv together, I had my ecig out, vaping like crazy(I'm pretty sure I vape more than I used to smoke) and she tried it a couple of times. She doesn't seem to mind it, but later that day she asked if I was trying to sneakily get her to quit. I was honest with her, told her that the only way she'd succeed is if she truly wanted it(I had quit once before for a year while engaged to a girl, which of course means that when we broke up I was back to a pack a day in no time). I actually don't drink anymore, part of a 12 step program, so I'm familiar with addiction to say the least.

Oh and in case no one has mentioned yet today: You guys are awesome.

Funny you should ask....NO....While I don't flaunt it in anyones face, I freely use mine wherever...Most are just curious, but some people ask me, so I tell them....and I offer them an ecf card....which ,btw are free to ecf members....all you pay for is shipping.....the cards make it so much easier than taking hours to explain.(ok, maybe not hours, but if you only got a couple of mins, they sure come in handy..). If anyone is interested, here is the link to the ecf store.

I vaped more than i smoked...initially. I'd say for about two weeks. Now i don't seem to need to vape half as much.

You'll find as you get clear of the tobacco (and all the other chemicalsthat are in analogs) cravings then your vaping will settle into a pattern all of it's own.
I would just go with it. The important thing here is to get some distance away from your last analog. And to be honest if that were to mean chuffing on my e cig all night and day i would do it.

If you've dealt with addiction before Dave then you know to not be complacent. After my second week of not smoking i was feeling kinda elated and hystirical. I had to work hard to keep myself calm. For me this is it. I do not want anything to stop me from quitting.

She'll be watching to see how you do. My husband I switched together, thankfully. He's had an easier time - he was happy from the day he put a cartridge on a PV and doesn't care what kind/flavor of juice he uses. I've been through juice that was good one day and repulsive the next, and using a cartridge/atomizer was a mess for me.

This forum has every question you could have already answered, plus ones you haven't even thought of. Everyday I admire the veterans who stick around in the new members section and answer the same questions over and over with total patience - they are awesome!!

Yeah, I did some research on the side effects of tobacco withdrawal, certainly experienced them(hence the uncomfortable first couple of days), and realize that if it takes vaping like crazy to stay off an analog, it's worth it. I am well aware not to be complacent, I'm either moving away from a cigarette or moving towards one(thanks Del Boy!)...

Oh and I should have mentioned my specs at the moment and near future:
Currently- Using an Njoy Npro(well 3 actually) and not particularly thrilled with the price and quality
Ordered and waiting to receive so I can return- Green Smoke(spent small fortune to stock up, of course before digging deeper into the ECF). I'll be returning that order(if it ever gets here!) instantly.
Ordered and waiting to receive so I can enjoy- Vapor4Life Vapor King ultimate ultimatum manual kit(has all sorts of useful things in there apparently) with a couple extra batts and a bunch of sampler cartos, one thing of wowvapor clove juice, and a drip tip

Pretty excited, wish they could teleport my package to me!
