Hi all.....I'm reading up on creating my own juice. I think I'll go with a starter kit to get a base of knowledge where I can purchase individually with more confidence once I get a few recipes under my belt.

That's what I'd recommend. A lot of sites like NudeNicotine offer very agreeably priced starter DIY kits.
Honestly once you get a buncha flavorings on deck it's just a matter of getting more of the base ingredients (PG/VG/nic) because a little bit of flavoring can go a pretty long way. It's a lot of fun, and (if you're like me) you can put your mind at peace knowing exactly what's going into your e-liquids.

Good idea. I didn't, but it works. FWIW, I buy my nic at MyFreedomSmokes and my flavors at Flavor Apprentice.
That's how I got started. I bought a starter kit from nudenicotine. Some would recommend putting the equipment and liquids together individually but it was an easy way for me to get started. The kit I bought was $30 and made more than $30 worth of juice and I still use the equipment.

A basic kit for $30 would be an expensive lessen for me. Can think of a lot of flavors I'd like for the money.
One big thing, kits in general lack, is quantity of 1 ml. syringes (2ea.). Suggest at least 1 dozen syringes/blunt needles or you will be washing your flavor syringes during mixing--not good.
Mixing with syringes is all about making it easy for the mixer. You have to make the investment and know which syringe/needles and viscosity pairs are most advantageous. All these tips come from trail and error. Wish someone would write or You tube the definitive syringe mixing techniques.
Could go with a couple of scales (one to break and one for spare). More pricey overall but said to be at least 25% or more quicker.
All you really need, is some nicotine solution, some PG, some VG, a couple blunt tip measuring syringes, and a couple empty e-liquid bottles, which, you could buy, or, you can use your old/used empty liquid bottles. Other than that, you just need a DIY calculator, and your flavorings. I recommend you order some "crisp" flavoring, as it does make a lot of juices a lot tastier (tobaccos, fruits, keylime pie) you may want to get a couple 50ml empty bottles for mixing as-well, if you plan to mix in large amounts. Other than that, you're good to go! A starter kit is a great idea, just make sure you aren't getting ripped-off for the price of convenience! you can get some great prices on nic solution by shopping around. MyFreedomSmokes has some good deals on pure nic, if you ask me. I've been out of the DIY game for a while now, though.. So, Idk the cheapest sites anymore.
