I have been very slow at submitting this review, but absolutely do want to share. Dawn of DIY Flavor Shack sent a complimentary bottle of her "Cafe Napolean" for me to try. Her note stated it was her "all time favorite". This excited me because she is my all time favorite mix-master !!! Probably 90% of my juices come from her and I have never been disappointed.
So, I rushed in making my preparations. I loaded a brand new G4 and sat back for what I expected would be one of my usual responses to vaping one of her creations ( ... oh yum !!! oh my !!! oh yes !!! vape, vape, vape into oblivion ... ). I was so excited and my expectations were really high.
Now, I personally like very rich, very sweet coffee and cake flavors. Flavors that many of my friends feel are too overpowering for their tastes. For me, these are heaven. And if I had known anything about this Cafe Napolean beforehand, I would have expected the different immediate response that it got from me. I can not say that I did not enjoy it ... because I did. But I found that I was kind of thinking ... " really, this is your all time favorite ??? ". Hmmmm ...
It is light in color and in flavor. But initially I could not really determine what flavors I was tasting. (Now to be completely fair about this, I have never been one who could taste something and determine all of the ingredients that had gone into the recipe.) It was enjoyable, really very pleasant. But I was really undecided as to exactly how much I liked it. Maybe it was too light in flavor for me. And I really found it hard to believe that it was Dawn's all time favorite with all of those heavenly creations at her finger tips.
Well, the bottle sat with 5 other juices .... and two weeks later I found this bottle of Cafe Napolean was the ... first one empty !!!! LOL ... and I mean it won that race by a mile !!! And I think it is now .... my all time favorite.
I still can not say what exactly I am tasting in it. But the best description for me is to say it is like I am sipping a cup of a high quality mild brew, light in cream and very slightly sweet. And as I sip this ... I am nibbling on a deliciously sweet vanilla/hazelnut cookie, drizzled with caramel !!!
Oh yum !!! Oh yes !!! Oh my !!! Dawn you rock .... thanks so much. I will be ordering this soon.
