You're welcome Sue. I don't use a whole lot of NF's flavors, but I have been using their Caramel Cream for several years in my ADV. Another idea might be to go to NF's site and ask their customer support if that is normal :)

Way back when the NF website was first online, I remembering using the "contact us" link on their website and never got a response. At that time they had a little link that you could click on regarding e-liquid or e-cig use flavors. The site still was undergoing changes every day but shortly thereafter, ECX and HDV started selling NF so I never went back to the site.

They have Organic Flavor Extracts and Organic Coffee & Tea Flavors which both seem to have the similar descriptions and ingredients and I wonder what the differences are (which was probably my question before lol because the one has plant and vegetable extracts and other is just a flavor somehow?)

Now that you mention it I'll use their site and send this quick question about the custard from ECX to see if they respond :)

Edit: After reading most the flavors on the NF website, it seems as if the 106 flavor offerings at ECX are from the Organic Flavor extracts. The ones I've been getting from HDV appear to be from the Organic Coffee Flavors list (far fewer of those)

High Desert vapes sells the flavor extracts:
NF Organic

Nature's Flavours' Organic Flavor Extracts are made from the finest ingredients available. Our flavorist shops the world over for the purest and most unique raw materials to bring you new and innovative flavors. These flavors will tantalize your taste buds!

What is an Organic Flavor Extract? Nature's Flavours' Organic Flavor Extracts are water soluble flavors made in a base of Organic Ethyl Alcohol. These all natural Flavor Extracts are Certified, Organic, Food Grade, Kosher, Vegan, Gluten Free, and contain NO Allergens.

They are best used in clear e-liquid flavor, beverages, dairy products, and applications where you don't want to disturb the clarity/translucency. Our Organic Flavor Extracts are pure Water Soluble Flavors. Flavor Extracts are in an alcohol base and will affect the freezing point of any application that you put them into, concentrates will not. Usage for these Flavors should start at under 0.5% and slowly work up to 4% maximum. You will need to experiment to achieve the perfect strength for flavoring you recipe, but once you finish you will be happy with the results. Ingredients: Water, Organic Ethyl Alcohol, Natural and Organic Plant and Vegetable Extracts.

ecigexpress version: Which is the flavoring for coffee/tea.

Ingredients: Ethyl alcohol, vegetable glycerin, and organic flavors.
Nature's Flavors contain all-natural ingredients and are certified organic, Kosher, vegan, gluten-free, no allergens.

It does appear they are different. the nature flavor sites has both versions.

The High desert flavoring has water as first ingredient.

@Sue I would definitely ask for a refund or exchange. I have been playing with a few of the ecx NF flavorings. I have had good luck thus far.

Thanks sdh.
I also have been using both ECX and HDV with good results. This is the first time I received what looks like a bottle of grainy milk instead of custard flavor lol. I'll email them. I'm guessing that since they probably buy huge gallons of flavors from so many different manufacturers then re-bottle into small 10 ml bottles, it's possible that I have a bottle of malted milk flavor, or there's one called OAK Milk, and a sweet cream. In any case, I'm guessing all of them are clear liquids and don't actually look like grainy milk, so I'm mainly puzzled. I'll email them again and try to get this resolved.

Sdh, I just re-read your previous post. I see where you said about the 2 versions and what I've gotten before might've been from HDV because I know the custard was a clear, slightly tinged yellow (not cloudy) bottle. ECX is selling the other variety (and it's white, apparently?)

I did email ECX and they responded this afternoon, requesting a picture. I sent a picture of the bottle of Custard. Within a few minutes they emailed back and told me that it's supposed to be WHITE like that. That it's perfectly normal. Also, that I should remember to shake it before using.

I won't be asking for an exchange or refund since it's obvious (from their email response) that they've sent me the correct thing. Period.

Thanks everyone for your input:)

Edit: Although, I'm a bit ticked off because I've never, ever received a DIY flavor that has been white and grainy and definitely feel like I should not use it no matter what ECX says in an email lol

Hi Sue! For some reason I feel the custard should not have white floaties in it. It doesn't sound right.

It's some kind of milk with millions of floaties (what I called grainy texture) It's white as white can be with floating granular substance in it lol.

Edit: I emailed the actual NF website with the contact us link. I don't think the link works. I might possible end up buying from them though. I may like using a giant bottle that they sell in food as well as vaping.

Hmm. The high desert version would be more concentrated. If ecigexpress theory is correct I would also assume that HDV custard flavoring would present with floaties as well. I might be assuming but maybe they are trying to pawn off old stock or the flavoring was not stored correctly.

speaking of storage, in my first email to ECX I inquired about shelf life. The response was they assured me that none of their product is over 2 months old and all that we buy from them should last 2 years.

I forgot to ask if we're supposed to keep flavors in fridge?

I have read that folks do refrigerate the NF flavors. I use to refrigerate. I finished our cold storage room (aka root cellars in old homes). It works well for storing flavorings.

Good info Sdh. So far, I've been buying the small bottles and have not worried about it. None have gone bad yet, without refrigeration that I've been using for about 18 months. I am thinking of buying a few big bottles from the NF website. Since the flavors might actually be something I may want to add to my decaf coffee in the evenings. Up until recently, I've just been playing with vape flavors but since I'll have to use my "grocery" budget to buy big bottles, I'm thinking I should start using many of my vape flavors in the kitchen!

Start DiY just last week , and got my Ry4 flavor i try to put 5% and steep it is after 3 days i try it but still didnt taste like RY4 :( anny suggest?

OH gosh, I just received a call from Nature's Flavors regarding an email I sent them a day or 2 ago. Firstly, we are not to store these organic flavors in the fridge, he said just room temp. He says cold temps definitely make the particulate separate out. (It has been cold in the last few weeks and it may have happened from a warehouse or during transit.)

Once there's been separation the previously clear looking flavor could definitely develop that grainy look to it. The water has separated from the other organic ingredients in my bottle of Custard, perhaps.

Sue, I'm glad you heard from NF, they are good at responding to inquiries. I have never stored mine in the fridge either, even tho I heard it recommended somewhere on the forums. Thank you for passing the info on to us :)
I think I used my nf flavors quickly and no separation issues. I will keep them in a dark place. :)

On a different note...I just read on ecigexpress sub forum they plan on obtaining over a hundred more Inawera flavoring products. I'm really happy because I hate to use dh paypal. I like to keep my ecig purchases out of his sight.

RY4 is my husband's adv. We let ours age 3 months. It tastes nasty when freshly mixed, but develops into something wonderful over time.
