DIY Flavoring Thread - Part 2

Hubby's all set in with his Hangsen tobacco's and my tastes have gone to coffee and minty stuff.

I'm curious what your favorite coffees are (or anyone else who wants to recommend one). I could use a good, dark coffee flavor. I like the FA and HS espressos to add a bit of dark roasty flavor to my tobaccos, but on their own (or with something creamy added) they just aren't working for me.

Instant or coffee beans? Vg, PG, or alchohol? Quick or slow? Just curious.

Also, if your grinding up coffee beans have you thought about grinding up a vanilla bean or cocoa bean and adding it to the extraction?

I use Starbucks Dark French Roast ground. I use a small mason jar. Fill it half full with coffee. Drape a coffee filter over a cup and pour in the ground coffee. Moisten with just a little pg and nuke for 2 seconds. Fill the same jar half full with pg and pour it over the grounds. Nuke for 10 seconds. Let it drain thru the filter for a half hour or so. Move the filter with grouns to another cup and pour the drained coffee over it. Nuke for 10 seconds. Let drain thru. I do this a third time and let it drain several hours the last time then bottle it. You will have a nice dark extract.

Headed to bed now but I'll answer any questions on that tomorrow.

Thanks. I guess I'll have to try the coffee extraction thing again sometime. I did give it a shot back when the idea first started showing up around here. I can't even remember why I wasn't so impressed with my results.

Probably so. I'll give your technique a try. I was out of town recently, and finally made it to a tractor supply. There's a gallon of PG here just waiting for me to do some DIY flavoring experiments.

Anyone have any favorite things to add to coffee juices? I know in the past I got a pretty decent (froofy, sweet) coffee going with TPA dulce de lece, TPA whipped cream, and CAP hazelnut. The one part that never was quite right was the FA espresso though.

JimiD uses Flavorwest. I am using one on one cinn roll which is probably the same as Flavorwest I also have Flavorexpress cinn roll which I have not tried yet.

Sounds good, thank you. I have a friend who fell in love with a premade Cinnamon Roll juice and is wanting to recreate it DIY. I haven't tried the premade so going on guesses here, but your recipe sounds yummy

Do know I have been using rebuildables and the flavor profile is different. I can use less flavorings now. I am thinking of bumping up the flavorwest to 7% for my SIL who uses kanger t3 products....the flavor is more muted so extra flavoring is a must.
I will be using Michael's recipe for his version of FExpress cinn roll soon.

I see ecx is out of the CC icing right now, but I passed the info along. I've never tried any of LA's flavorings my self, but trust everyone here on flavor advice!

You might want to back off on the Cream Cheese Icing try it at 1% (per your suggestion) and FE Cinnamon Bun at 2.5%
