DIY Flavoring Thread - Part 2

That's true about tobacco flavors, that they seem to be best in a couple months, not days or weeks.

I'm always looking for flavors that are not PG-based. In looking at all the DIY flavors at ECX it's hard to tell. I wish they had a link that indicated DIY PG-FREE or Alcohol based etc.

It looks like Nature's Flavors are on sale at ECX. I wimped out on the pure cream flavorings. I settled on a Italian cream flavoring.

OH gosh, I just received a call from Nature's Flavors regarding an email I sent them a day or 2 ago. Firstly, we are not to store these organic flavors in the fridge, he said just room temp. He says cold temps definitely make the particulate separate out. (It has been cold in the last few weeks and it may have happened from a warehouse or during transit.)

Once there's been separation the previously clear looking flavor could definitely develop that grainy look to it. The water has separated from the other organic ingredients in my bottle of Custard, perhaps.

Oh, crap! I didn't look at my NF bottles. I suppose working too many Noc shifts. I will look at my NF bottles and report back if they say anything in regards to storage

I just looked at my NF cotton candy. It states "keep out of the reach of children and pets". The next line states "All ingredients are approved for use by the FDA.

My Caramel Cream straight from NF doesn't say to refrigerate. Shilo, I knew I remembered someone mentioning that.

Let me point out, just a thought, that when I received a phone call from Nature's Flavors (and good grief I can't remember the man's actual name and didn't write it down)

....I found it interesting that it was a PHONE CALL and not an email. (As in no paper-trail for reading later or showing, etc.) Just a phone call that was not, unfortunately, recorded in any way.

Interesting indeed. I don't have a lot of NF flavors. I use a few for SIL. I will not buy anymore. I never played with the cotton candy yet. I just opened it today. Surprise! It has some gunky yellowish residue around the outside of the tip. It must be something with their extraction method.

I do have a lot because I've been buying from both places. Every once in a while (from HDV previously) there would be odd residue or little bits (little white pieces) on the bottom of the bottle. When given a slight warm water bath, the bits re-incorporated into the liquid. I've never had a problem using or vaping any from either place. Until the other day when I received the custard, which, after a warm bath, it actually got cloudier and seemed worse. It was stated in email by ECX in that the bits happen often and are perfectly normal.

I just obtained a order from ecx. This is the first time in a long time that the bottles leaked. The house reeks of Inawera red usa. They had been sealed but I suppose they forgot to actually twist the cap tight. Grrrr....not a big deal but worth mentioning.

Now NF are even more on sale Such a dilemma....do I order more, wondering if it's old and will go bad soon? They don't put dates on the bottles, it drives me crazy!!

It does appear they have many diy flavor offerings at a discount. I picked up a Hangsen flavor at 50% off.

I haven't Sparky...you know me, I stick with my good old boring few recipes

I tried a few of the Jungle flavors. The one's I tried I liked. I just have so many brands. I tried the Cherry and it reminded me of the Cherry flavor in a diet rite cherry coke flavor. The usa was okay as well. Cappuccino was good to me. It was light on the sweetness.

cool good to know but I am scared to death of cherry since I tried vaping nyquil or at least that is what it tasted like

not sure if they are pg or not but I believe they are I am still trying to find a good apple to mix with capellas sweet strawberry

I would lower the Hangsen to 3%.

The names of the flavors sound good, however, I'm guessing a few drops is less than .10 ml? or less than a half %?
