Ealisaid, thank you for adding your experience, as well. I am glad to say that it's not just me, too. I was really starting to doubt myself, which I do not like the feeling of. So, I'm glad at least we can commiserate. Don't you love that word? LOL
Ivapus, thank you, too, for your comments. I feel as you do about sharing information. It is important because we are all consumers and are often in the dark on most of our purchases and, in this case, unprotected if we don't want the product.
LookMa, I did start with 1 or 2 drops in 1ML. Like Ealisaid, at 3 or 4 per, I had the sensation that "something" was there but not sure what it was. Also, as I got higher, it started to get kinda rank. This may be the alcohol in it. I will address this below. I tried again tonight starting with 2 drops in 1ML and nada.
FOR THE RECORD:
I ordered RY4, 555, and MLB from ECX's Tobacco Express line. These are advertised as highly concentrated on ECX (as all the flavors are) and reports in this and the original thread about ECX flavors reported that concentrations of 1-2% or perhaps 2.5% have been all that was needed. So I bought all three of the flavors that I was currently looking for in the Tobacco line.
Starting with 1 drop flavor for 20 drops of nicotine base, I mixed the RY4, dripped 3 drops on an atomizer and tasted nothing but base, then went to 2 drops (plus 2 more drops of nic to stay at the 1ML mark), still nothing, at 3 drops there was something but it was weak and mysterious as to what kind of flavor it might be. I went up to 5 drops (out of 20 equals 1/4 (or 25%) flavor and could smell caramel on the atomizer but could not taste it or vanilla at all, but some tobacco but not much. Weak. The unpleasant, perfumey taste was most powerful at this point. Eventually I made it up to 8 drops/ML and then dumped the whole bottle into 30ML of 50/50 PG/VG thinking I would taste test it with additional nic drops later.
I even taste tested the pure flavor itself, wiping it on my hand, alcohol smelly, and then licked it. Most other flavors will burn your tongue or taste so wrong because they are so concentrated. This one tasted like alcohol and didn't burn at all.
I repeated with MLB and then 555. MLB was a bit stronger and was OK after 5 drops per ML (25%). The flavor was kind of pungent though, kinda rank nutty smell, and made em say "phew" when I smelled it.
555 was also very weak and tasted almost just like the MLB but less strong. That mix took 6 drops per ML (+25%) to get OK flavor. Still, it smelled very strongly like perfume and did not have a pleasant taste. In fact, none of them do, at all.
Tonight, I have gone back to the mix that's been sitting in its own bottle and the MLB seems stronger. I diluted it a little (it was at 25%) by adding more nic base. Still, the taste is not good, though. The 555 is also a little strong but it kind of made it just right because it was so weak -- that was at >25%
More than anything is that strange, nasty, perfumey taste that I'm now attributing to the alcohol in it. I have had flavoring with alcohol in it and found that it made the flavoring potent but not rank like this. I didn't taste alcohol at all in those but this one it seemed to dis-color everything.
Starting out weak, even weaker than Flavor West (the least concentrated I've found so far), the flavor on these never hit a sweet spot. And, after 15 or 20% the perfume taste and smell took over everything.
Not recommended.
