On my last order I noticed that HC has a good selection of flavorings for those who DIY, I ordered 10mls of 555, Marlboro, Milkmint, spearmint.

Anyone try these? What the heck is milkmint?

Thanks!

Neon

Neon, thank you for your asking here. milkmint is a mix of milk and mint. :)

Finally got my order in today (shipped on November 20th 2009), and am happy to report that the flavorings are excellent, as per my original post I ordered 555, marlboro, spearmint and the mysterious Milkmint. Im a big Creme de menthe vaper and the milkmint is nowhere near it, I would describe it as a menthol worthers original if that makes any sense. all the flavorings are crystal clear with no color except the milkmint wich has that yellowish e liquid color.

I would strongly recommend these DIY flavorings.

Peace

What is the correct percentage of flavor to use for the fruit flavors and spearmint? From reading on ECF I've seen that ppl use between 10-20% of flavor. Or should I start at 5% and try from there? What do HC flavor fans do?

Thank you for your asking. our furit flavor is very concentrated. I suggest you to start at 1-3%. :)

Fabsta, I would take this advice with a grain of salt. In my experience the usual 10-20 percent applies to HC flavorings as well. So try really small batches first to find your personal preferred percentage in each flavor you are using.

Caveat: I like strong flavors so hopefully others can chime in with their experiences.

Cool, thanks siouxsie. I'm looking forward to trying it out. What flavors do you like and what are your mixing ratios? I think I'm gonna keep it pretty simple to start. I'll probably mix the 36mg VG with 50% PG and add some flavor. I went for the strawberry, watermelon, blueberry and spearmint. Fruity, I know! I read somewhere that you should let it steep for a week or 2?

You can speed that process up a bit.....before adding nic juice......

add your pg or vg and the flavoring....cap it and set it in warm water for a bit.....I'll find the thread where Kim from OneStopDIYShop revealed that little tidbit.....also I will suggest while you are trying to hand at the flavors trying to figure out what percentage of flav to use....don't use your nic juice....I do all my testing with just my pg/vg....if I like it, then I can remix with nic....if I don't, I have not wasted any of my nic juice.....also mix in small batches....1-3mls at a time till you find your flavor....now....off to find that thread for you...if you're interested:)

EDIT: Okay...have the link....it will take you to page 3 where you will find Kimmerpuff with a DIY logo under it....read her post and then if you wanna peruse the rest of the thread, there are some good tips there...

So after playing around with these new flavorings I found that the tobacco flavors must be mixed at %18 to %20 minimum to deliver full flavor, the spearmint needs much less, around %10 to get the same flavor.

I too started @ %5 and added flavoring to taste, if you want a commercial e liquid flavor mix it @ %15 to start and keep adding it until it suits your fancy.

as per my original post, I got 555, marlboro, spearmint and milkmint ( kinda smells like a minty caramel )

hope that helps.

I've tried vanilla, strawberry, blueberry and for me they all required 15-20%.

When I recieved my flavourings from HC I could smell the blackcurrent on opening the parcel, I put 5 drops of blackcurrent into 20ml of liquid and it was strong! The litchi was a bit less powerfull, but still I would recommend starting low.

Thanks for your review. most of our non tobacco flavour are very concentrated. so it is wise to start low. :)
