Hi
Having problems with my mixing my own juice,
im using 50mg PG cut with VG and using flavorarts.

i mix this to a 18mg base and add flavor to taste (few drops at a time n test)
the problem im having is that when i fill up my cartomizers they seem to be vaping the flavor first within the first five draws and then leaving me with the base solution.

this happens with any flavor i try, menthol, peppermint, spearmint, cherry, apple pie, butterscotch etc.

anybody else have the same problem or know what i might be doing wrong and help me to resolve this.

all and any help given will be extremely appreciated.

thx
mushy

I am no expert, but it sound like it might be a carto issue. I know when I chain vape and get my cartos to hot it tends to loose a lot of flavor. Its how I know I should put my PV down for a while. This is all just conjecture and what I know causes my issue. Also, you could try different % of flavor like was suggested. Or maybe you do not mix your DIY mix well enough, and your first few drags have all the flavor and the rest have very little.

Would you elaborate on that, please?
Thanks

When you first quit smoking and switch to vaping your body goes through a healing phase. It purges, it repairs, it expels. Everyone goes through it a little differently and there are a dozen different symptoms from a period of excessive phlegm production to the "quit zits" and so on. One common one is a temporary loss of flavour in your juices. Nothing else (usually), just your juices. It may be total flavour loss, it may be partial, it may be that you taste the first few puffs and not the rest until you put it down for a while and come back to it in a bit, but those who experience it (and I went through it twice) say that their juices are completely flavourless, like straight up water vapor. It passes, usually within a few days. You just have to push through it or vape very strong flavours like cinnamon or minty vapes. It's just your tastebuds being resurrected after years of deadening from cigarette smoke.

I've been raping for roughly 5months. i don't let them steep. this is something i will try. I've tried numerous carts and all have had similar result. if i buy premixed juice its fine.

That sounds like a steeping issue.. You should wait at least 24~48 hrs b4 tasting your juice, but even then the flavors haven't had a chance to "blend" together. You can speed it up by putting it in hot water for about 15 minutes to test it, The longer the steep, the more the flavors come out.

I agree. It mostly sounds like a steeping issue.

First do yourself a favor and decide on a percentage. The drop mix method is tedious and very hit or miss when it comes to DIY.

Second, let your mixes sit for at least four days before trying to vape them. I like to shake the bottle vigorously on a daily basis during steeping.

Also, and maybe this is my imagination, but I've come to suspect the flavors tend to mix better with PG than VG. So if they aren't shaken, the PG and VG will tend to separate and thus give inconsistent flavor strengths as I vape.
