Hello, Im trying to make my own mod box, but itll be a little more complicated than normal boxes. I have a couples questions im hoping people can answer.

what type of CPUs do regulated modboxes like the KangerSide N6 use?
What type of battery does the ego c sticks use?

I already understand the dangers of creating my own mod and have done plenty of research but could not find answers to these questions. I know this kind of mod will be a challenge and not recommended for newbies but I am an engineer and computer scientist and am ready to take the challenge. Thank you for any and all help.

thanks this is much closer to what im looking for, i was just hoping to have my own lcd. but this will probalby do for my first mod, and revision 2 ill get soem better resources...

now does anyone know what type of battery i can put in there. besides two 18650 batteries i will have a rechargable battery in there to power the cpu on its own. can someone help me decide which type should go in there?

If you want to build your own ecig from the ground up go to Breaktru.com modding section..

Its a companion site to ecf per se'. hacking already made mods, mcu, and lcd mods, are more in topic there, here those posts are buried deep...

With the power demands of an ecig liion or lipo batteries have been the best choices but if you build a mod with all the protections any battery will do the task as long as it's rated for that task.. But with nimh or lifepo memory voltage shortchanges noone really uses those anymore..

They have rumored those capacitive charge batteries for a long time and still notta on the fronts. huge amps and mah almost instant charging; when industry when? lol..

They use ARM2 cores in the evolves and yihi i believe. if you don't mind the costs for small runs of PCBs -- go for it ! Maybe you can even liberate some of the yihi firmware with your CompSci skills and use that as a baseline ;) let us know how you do!

the discrete components can be determined fairly easily but googling the target boards name and going over to the image results...

i have actually yet to see a box mod that uses liion batteries. i just cant wait for graphene batteries. thatll be the industry killer.

do you have a link to where you found out the evolve uses ARM2 cores? so i can see exactly which chip that used. I saw the PCBs on alibaba but ofcourse they had no price listed. Im getting my box custom made once i finish my design.

I can see it from their datasheet -- come on EE guy -- you should know how to find these things ;)
scroll down to the board up close shot and zoom in -- ATSAMD21 - does look like its an ARM Cortex-M0+ and not ARM2 though.

Lol this account is shared. I'm computer science, one for design, and anther electrical engineer. I just speak as if I'm one person. Thanks though!
With some work, you could make this board do all you want:

Arduino - ArduinoBoardFio

I am looking at options for it now as it has the potential to do anything you throw at it, and serve is a charging board.
Cool! I'm going to order this one. Seems like it will be more work but much greater flexibility.
