I'm a newbie so maybe I shouldn't already be working on DIY, but I'm a flavor Junkie and I already love to create my own flavor blends for tea etc, so ive ordered my nic base and PG and VG, installed an ejuice calculator app on my phone and read a bunch about it, now I'm concerned that I dont know how much flavor I should start with since some flavors are more highly concentrated than others.... some people say 10% other say 30%, some say 30% of dilutes etc, I imagine it all must greatly depend on the manufacturer. could someone who has some experience with using flavors from natures flavors help me out and give me some recommendations on the amount of flavoring to start with? I am especially excited about creating my own lychee pear juice... juicy vapor's tribute rocks my socks off!

Welcome to the forum, hempnotized42. Also a newbie, I was interested in DIY flavors from Day One. Haven't ordered my VG and PG yet, nor have I begun experimenting. I've been an herbalist for about 40 years so I'll be trying to make them from plants, including leaf tobacco. I am thinking of beginning with tobacco of course, plus vanilla beans, chamomile, ginger, rose, lavender, and even hot peppers (for TH). I'm looking forward to comparing notes down the road a piece!

in my experience it's best to not concern urself too much w/ exact ratios when it comes to flavor, they're all diff't so i find it's best to mix a small bottle, say 5ml, and add 5 drops, shake and drip 1 drop into an atomizer to test - add more from there. i actually mix mostly by smell - you'll quickly find adding flavor is not an exact science and it's better to just have fun w/ it and add to taste kinda like cooking. just my opinion, more fun that way.

:)

mostly I'm concerned that my flavors will be more concentrated than I expect, and I'll end up with something ridiculously intense, but the 5ml starting point is a good suggestion :) I guess it's probably really only the nicotine that is paramount for it to be exact

i buy 215ml of 12mg base for $12...saves me the headache of calculating everything and i buy 5 or 6 lil 10ml condensed FA flavors for $4 each. yields about 250ml of juice for $40 shipped. lasts me about 5-6 weeks.

oh wow.... that IS cheap! 250ml would last me ages lol, its still more expensive than mixing myself, but I'm sure the convenience is well worth it. If this proves to be more of a pain in the .... than I think it will be I might have to go that route
