Congrats, Gratch. Letting my flavors sit/shake/open/closed a few days did improve most of the flavors. I too started with WAY less than the "recommended" and I do prefer it that way.... I did vape my first flavor mix on the first day and it was pretty mute... But everything came together. I'm learning I need more of some flavors than others, and that is ONE MAJOR thing I write down.... As well as what I hate, LOL.

I want to start mixing by weight myself... It does seem so much easier. But I found an app I really liked that does mls/drops.

Congrats hope you enjoy them!!!

Argh this DIY is frustrating. I just made a test 10ml with 15% flavour as fruit flavours are supposed to be shake and vape. With no additives. It tastes of hardly anything and like some of the other ones i made it feels empty almost cotton tasting on exhaling. The coil and wick are fine not burnt at all. Also tested it in 2 different devices. Now i know that over flavouring can lead to no flavour but i have now tried low medium and high flavour amounts and it just tastes like when you have washed a fruit drinks bottle and fill it with water and the first sip you take you can taste a little residue of the old fruit flavour. I have no idea what to do, is it my flavouring are FA no good?

You possibly have a really unlucky combination of vapor's tongue while newly DIYing? I don't know, and I'm sorry this is happening. Have you asked another vaper to try the mixes?

In my experience, FA flavours are excellent, so this is a puzzler. I mean, I could understand some flavors just not working that well together and the mix not really being tasty, but just "no taste" I don't understand.

I tested an old shop flavour just now and it tasted fine to me, I have no idea what i am doing wrong. Apart from the 2 lime juices i made the other 10 or so all taste of nothing and smell of practically nothing except a hint of the megingue in a few of them. I tried smelling a few shop flavour bottles and the aroma jumps out. Mine are almost like unflavoured juice. I spent so much on this and i was broke to begin with. Thanks for the reply though tazzle.

Its too much flavoring for FA. Cut it in half at least and I bet you will begin to taste it.

Actually cut it in thirds you will be surprised.....and let them steep

I started off with very low flavouring ammount in my juce of 3 to 5% no flavour. made some more shake and vape 6 to 12% still no flavour now i made this one at 15% fruit falvours and nothing. Whatever i do its all just the same no flavour or aroma Thanks for the reply tho.

I agree on the steeping.... Gratch, if you overdo the flavoring it may dilute/change your juice to the point that it's hard to get a satisfying vape at all.

I found flavor with my first try (started small, smelled immediately, tasted a bit weak) but shaking/airing/steeping may help if you can wait a bit. Maybe take one of your Super flavors, divide it in half, and add more PG/VG and STEEP it, shake it, etc for several days.... I don't know what's IN flavorings exactly but you wouldn't expect to eat raw cake batter and have it taste like the finished product, right? Okay, they're both delicious, but maybe start with one or two, then really give them a bit of time to age at the recommended flavor level?

Hope you get it figured out, you will :)

QUOTE="tazzle, post: 19904815, member: 179946"]Maybe the drops method is not working out to a close-to-accurate percentage. Perhaps you found a reference about how many drops per ml, but it's out of date with newer bottles? Just trying to imagine what might be happening here.
Do you have anything in which to test the amount you are using? If you could get a somewhat of an accurate accounting of how many drops are equal to 1ml then you would have a much easier time of it. The standard of drops to ml is 20-30 drops per ml here in the US. Hope this helps. Just agreeing with ya tazzle....lol

I suppose it could be tazzle but i specifically made this last test to be high percentage of flavour and still nothing, i know steeping will help but i should be getting some decent flavour using larger ammounts of raspeberry and strawberry and all i can taste is the tiny amount of megingue i put in.
I get that anna and yes steep should help its just frustrating that of the 12 or more testers i have made the only ones that even smell or tate of anything are the lime and meringue and the ones with meringue that was always the lowest percantage of the flavours i added.

The website i use says 35 drops to a ml. So i could be using to little but as i said i made this last one strong with strong flavours and no taste or smell. I do notice that the FA bottles drip small drips so i think the 35 drops is quite accurate.

Maybe its time to look at 'where' you purchased the flavoring? Are they in original bottles that are labeled from FA?

I always try my mixes right away, even if they are going to be steeped, and I've never had one with no flavor (not the right flavor, yes, plenty -- but no-flavor, never), so I'm not really convinced that it's just a steeping issue.

If you put a drop of concentrate on the back of your hand and taste it with your tongue, it should taste *strong.* Like, maybe even a little "burn-y" and you'll want a sip of water after that. Is that how your flavors are?

Maybe the meds you are taking for your injury is messing with your taste buds?
