I have been making my own tobacco juices for a few months now with some success, and have made my own RY4 which I like as well...My question is, I see a space on e-juice calculators asking how much water to use as an ingredient. Why would I use water? Is it only to thin VG? Or is there another purpose? How much should be used?

It has to be distilled water, I think, and I'm pretty sure it's only for thinning VG so it won't clog carts. I've started doing this because I'm allergic to PG, so I'm learning to mix juices 100% VG with water because that's what was recommended to me. You can also use alcohol (the drinking kind) for thinning, also, but I run into allergy problems w/that sometimes, too. Other than that, I haven't heard of adding water.

Many use water here for their VG juices, since many here cannot do PG or alcohol. I'm one of them. My juices are about 10% flavor (contains some PG), 12% distilled water, and the rest nic and VG. Aside from health issues with PG and alcohol, I find water "opens up" the nic. More TH and nasal tingle, which I like. Nic gets in faster. I am fine with lower nic levels than with unthinnned. Much more moist vape. I don't need to continually drink water. Also opens the flavors up, and this composition makes for very nice in a carto, with excellent wicking. I can't remember the last burnt-tasting carto I had. Just never happens. It can with just VG, although unthinned VG juices are better for dripping.

For cartos I find %water + %flavor = 20 to 22% is always really good, especially in a 1.6 ohm dual-coil carto and Riva. Fantastic. :thumb: :vapor:

Whoa... that's great info! I love the DCs and usually use 60/40. I may have to look into your suggestion. Any other hints?

Thanx!
