So, I am someone who would like to start making my own e-juices. But, I would love to buy a DIY Starter Kit, so I can start experimenting with things, and find the right DIY path for myself. I guess the biggest question is, "Is there a DIY starter pack?". If so, where and which one is best? If not, why doesn't anyone make one?

Thank you,

David

There are starter kits but they cost like $30 more then the stuff you can pick up yourself. Just so you know you can get a great deal on a gallon of nicotine, $260 for a gallon. E-juice USA where I got mine and it's really good. If you check out what is in a kit then just get your own local, you will save money. Thats the idea isn't it? ;)

Wow, an entire gallon?!?! That would take me years to go through! :D

To answer your question, here are some starter kits:

DIY Artisan Kits - One Stop DIY Shop Store

I agree with CD however, the parts are much cheaper to buy and you don't need everything in a DIY kit to start off anyway. But if price is no matter, these kits will get you started.

Thanks guys. I know the kits would cost a little more, because you end up paying for the added convenience. But, they will get me started, and let me know if this is something that I really want to do.

CD: That site is a little rough to navigate. Do they have smaller options, and what is the nic percentage?

PC: Those are some pretty cool looking kits. Plus, they give me an idea of what to get, if I decide to just buy everything separately.

So, if I do this, are their any good recipe sites, or books? Is it true that you can get VG at Walgreens?

I don't know if they have smaller options but they sell 36mg, over all if you look at all the sites that sell smaller sizes the price is over double, you get 3,785 ml of nic that you can cut down for $260 . I checked some sites, some go for $8.99 for 36mg Nicotine 30ml, thats insane. If you want PM me and I will split a gallon with you.

Thanks CD. I may take you up on that. 1/2 gallon for $130 is much more reasonable, for the budget. How may ML can you usually make with a 5ML flavoring?

well if your making 10ml bottles it takes 2.1 36mg nic for that soooooo..... 3,785/2=1892. 1892/2.1=901 bottles of 5 mg juice lol. Worth the money. Check out Perfumers Apprentice for some good CHEAP flavors. All I use.

Well, I meant the flavoring for 10ML of juice. I am trying to figure out how much flavoring I need to get. I am planning to play around with some DIY, and am going to start off by making 10ML batches.

For 10ml of juice at 20% flavoring at 5 mg you need 2ml of flavoring

I would recommend making your own starter kit.

What I would get ....

Core raw materials
------------------
1 gallon PG from Tractor Supply Co (will last your lifetime)
4 containers of glycerin, USP from a local pharmacy
1 120ml or 250 ml container of PG-based nicotine in 60mg/ml or 100mg/ml (I use Blue Mist and have also used RTS)
Big jug of 100 proof vodka
Big box of 100 or more dropper bottles of a small (from 5ml to 10ml inclusive) size. Check ebay.

Flavors
-------
Tobacco:
Blue Mist Seedman's Virginia and Rob's Blackjack
TPA DK Tobacco Base
Flavour Art Shade and Latakia

Menthol:
TPA Menthol drops in PG
TPA Creme de Menthe
TPA Wintergreen
Blue Mist Hypermint

Fruit:
TPA Green apple and Apple pie
TPA Strawberry, Raspberry and Black Cherry

Floral:
TPA Honeysuckle and Cherry Blossom

Other:
Flavour Art Vape Whiz
TPA Jamaican Rum
TPA HPNO
TPA Vanilla Swirl

Equipment
----------
45 drop per ml disposable pipettes from TPA (not avail at one stop diy)
gloves, safety glasses, impermeable apron
Several 3 ml syringes with needles (handle carefully)
10+ 1ml disposable pipettes
10+ 2ml disposable pipettes
Small pipette pump (This and the pipettes avail from onestopdiy shop)
2 10ml graduated cylinders

Other
------
Notebook. Take notes or you'll be kicking yourself. I swear!

It depends on the flavor in question. Most TPA flavors are fine at 5%-7%, Flavour Art recommends their tobacco flavors at 1%-2%, etc.

I don't know what you said there, but I sure like the cut of your jib.

I see that CD told you how much your going to need, but I have a thread here that discusses this in a round about way. I recently figured out that I can only make juice taste good if I just throw stuff in without measuring. So, you may find that this all varies too. I'm not so concerned now with how much flavor I have, as long as I still have flavor to make some vape juice with.

Even with pretty weak flavors you likely won't go above 20 - 25% total, so 2.5ml per 10. A big party of diy is finding the flavorings that work well for you. I like seedman commercial as a cigarette flavor base, though for people who can't use pg I also use theperfumers apprentice tobacco blend. Tpa also has a good selection of general pg-based flavorings. For non-pg, I use a lot of natures flavors, and menthol liquid concentrate from either tpa or voidmist. Check voidmist for good pricing on 60 mg/ml nic base, I've used them all this year.

You can make your own DIY kit and save some mone at the same time. Here are some suggestions to get you started:

- Get PG, VG and Nicotine juice from RTS Vapes.
- Get some 3-20 ml syringes for measuring from here. They are really inexpensive and ship for free.
- Get flavoring. I am partial to Flavor Art and The Perfumer's Apprentice. You can get small bottles of FA from Pure Vapes. Liberty Flights carries both FA and TPA flavors.
- You will need some bottles (5-30 ml) unless you save the bottles your juices came in.

There are other sites that sell DIY stuff. I just listed the ones I get my supplies from on a regular basis.
