Looking at P Busardo's pictures of the internals of the Opus200, how are you guys fitting all that inside of smaller boxes? Looks like a lot of things are quite tight in there. Not referring to the boxer because its clear they just made that as wide as possible and that explains that size difference.

This thing is very clear on how everything runs. Don't know what to do about buttons . I guess I could get some printed buttons. will need to get a smaller battery for it though.

wonder if I can make it taller mmm so I can shove one of them 5000mah lipos in it :p
Buttons?
Did you download the enclosure for the 1000mAh without buttons?

I've not done any formal testing but going off strictly usage... I can vape double the amount on the Boxer than I do on the Opus and still have 1/3 batt. life left on the Boxer and the Opus will be at maybe 10-20% batt. life left. Both using Subtank Plus' at 19 -20j or watts, 80vg juice, coils at 0.24/0.25, 2 tanks/day on the boxer and maybe 1 full (90-100%) on the Opus. Only thing clearly different is the temp since the Boxer doesn't have a Ti profile yet - 350 on the Boxer, 480 on the Opus.

Thank you for the response. I vape like you so a great comparison for me. Sorry for the grief. Now I know what to expect for my money. Again, thank you.

This one: DNA200 Box mod with front chip for Gen Ace 1300 - BETA by BlueRidgeDog - Thingiverse
Has the buttons inside the enclosure ;)

And it's for a 1300mAh LiPo what should give you at least a little more room. But I'm not entirely sure.
Probably will try to print this tommorow. just need to get that weird lifting out of one corner. checking if it's the leveling of my bed

how many amps can a 18 gauge wire handle? it's the recommended gauge for the battery but whenever I look up max amperage for 18 gauge it always ends up being like 7 amps and with the rating of 23 amps I am confused

I'm not completely sure but I think it has to do with the length, too.
You use what? An inch? Two inches tops?
Most of the ratings I found used FEET. The more feet the thicker the wire.

well I guess I can trust evolv on the wiring. plus it makes soldering thin wire on the board so much more easy

especially since te solder pads are so close to the balanced charger plug

18g wire can handle up to 30a at 12v for 3'

I remote* jump started a car once during an emergency with 18g wire... The wires got hot and the insulation started to smoke but I did start the car...Probably saved a life too.

Tony

The encloser feels good. my print isn't perfect. the chip holders line up perfect. I managed to print it without supports fine. the sled for the back messed up for me (one corner lifted again) and I need to sand down the slots that fit in the grooves. Definitely don't want it to be too tight or you won't be able to get it open haha

How much thinner should the rails be? I am waiting on the shapeways print and I wanted enough on there so that it could be sanded to fit, vs sloppy. I can probably make you an STL of a taller unit if you tell me how much in a PM.

If any one wants some of the screens that I'm using for profiles here are some. They are 128 x 33 pixels.
There are six, TGT II, Kayfun 4, Dripper, Magma, Lemo Drop and Subtank.
Right click on the red file name to save.

rains should be like a mm or two thinner. It could just be my warped corner making it tight. I got another back printing out that doesn't have that curve so I will know how that turns out. taller I would say 2-3 centimeter should do it especially 3 trying to get a turnigy nanotech 2200mah 25-50C in it

Even with the benefit of lipo comparing a 1000 mah lipo VS a dual 18650 mod that can have like 5000mah worth of batteries. you should compare it with like a 2200mah lipo vs 5000mah 18650.

Sure, although a LiPo with that capacity is significantly larger and weighs 200g alone.
